A DAY OF RELAXATION!

PERFECT size for a lakehouse..and VERY gorgeous inside!

This past weekend, Taylor and Kiersten (and little Isabel) invited us to go out to Taylor's uncle's lakehouse! Of COURSE we said YES and headed out Friday night down to Corsicana, TX! They have a BEAUTIFUL lakehouse and it was nice to just relax for a day and not have to worry about anything else. Since it's fall, of course we didn't get ino the water at all but the dogs did enjoy roaming free outdoors! It's always nice to just get away and spend time with friends! The boys made us a WONDERFUL breakfast, we visited all day (besides the few hours we all napped), watched some football, let the dogs roam and play, the boys made us hamburgers (how is it that the girls got away without cooking...) and we just chilled some more! It was FABULOUS! I can't wait for the day that we are rich enough to afford something like this! Right now it's just a dream but I LOVE the idea of being able to spend the weekend away from everything else, take the family, jet ski, go tubing, water skiing or whatever and just having family/friend bonding time!
Isn't it beautiful? I had a better pic but I think I accidently deleted it..
Do Boss and I look really pale next to these Mexi's or what?!?
Pretty little Isabel...

The dog's taking a quick break to pose for the camera...but only for a SECOND so they can get back to playing--Stella slept ALL day the next day and actually now that I think about it, she's pretty much just been laying around ever SINCE then!

Our Boy is Getting SOOO BIG!

On my friend Stacy's blog, she put her little boy Jack in his boopy and he sat up all by himself! For some reason I hadn't tried this and decided I should! So I sat him in his boopy, put some toys in front of him and to my surprise Boston sat up ALL BY HIMSELF---well with the help of the boopy of course! He can sit up if he's concentrating on something. Sometimes he is a VERY serious baby, I really don't know where he got that from but I think it's funny--it's almost like he just taking in everything and learning every texture, color, etc that he can take in! I love the little guy!
FALL BALL!

I just downloaded some pictures onto my computer and realized there's alot that I haven't blogged about lately. I'm so sorry and please forgive me but I'm going to be adding a few more posts tonight while Kent is at basketball...

Next to bat, workin on that homerun swing!

Kent has grown up playing baseball! He found out that our ward had a softball team that plays other churches in the area and he decided he just had to share his talent with the team! He LOVES to play and I really do LOVE to watch him play! It really is alot of fun going to the ball park and cheering him on! Now I can't say that their team is the greatest..in fact I think they have only won two or three games! On the ride home Kent always discusses with me what happened and why they played how they played. Over and over again he always says it's because of the errors they make---"You can't win a softball game having errors occur over and over again!" We finally bought Kent some cleats to help improve his batting game, apparently he was slipping too much at the plate with his tennis shoes and he'd always hit pop flies! I really love when he gets into all this! But they did win this last game and I was VERY happy for the team...10 run rule---Basically the "mormon" team kicked butt! I'll be sad when the season is over but hopefully next summer he can play again!
The pitcher pitches the ball, batter hits it and it's up...up...GRAND SLAM!!! Okay so no he didn't hit a homerun but it was a decent hit!
The night was a little chilly in this high 60's low 70's so we got all bundled up! Boston I think stayed pretty warm plus his extra chub gives him some extra warmth too!

TAG IT UP!

I have been tagged a couple of different times with this so I finally decided tonight while I'm watching the BC vs. VT game I'd try to come up with 6 interesting things about myself...hopefully I'll be able to get that many:

1. I'm very stubborn and competitive. I guess I can put those both together. Back in elementary school when I used to run 5k's, my dad always told me that being stubborn was a good thing! I think that was to help me win...and it worked! Then when I got to be a stubborn teenager he would say that stubbornness isn't ALWAYS a good thing..only sometimes. I think that was to help break my other stubborn ways throughout high school! I get both my stubbornness and competitiveness from my dad...maybe that's why he justifies it for me sometimes! I can't STAND to loose...seriously it doesn't matter how small it is I just HATE it--I can't stress that enough! I USED to sometimes cheat to win but I am finally happy to admit NO MATTER WHAT PEOPLE SAY I have finally gotten past cheating in board/card games (that was my new year's resolution last year...sad I know). I try and try to explain the feeling of loosing to Kent and others but I really don't know if anyone understands! I know this CAN be a bad thing....but there is also a good side to it too like my dad always says!

2. I would venture to say I'm a bit of a clean freak! I must say I have gotten a little less uptight about it as I've gotten older. When I was younger I HATED people sitting on my bed because they would "wrinkle" the covers and it DROVE ME CRAZY!!!!!! I feel like everything has it's place and I can't STAND to have things loose and hanging around! I HATE having dishes and the house a mess when we go to bed---I guess this goes for during the day as well! I really have gotten better but the whole sitting on the bed thing still bothers me. Kent and I get in arguments sometimes because he always says it's HIS bed and he can lay on it if he wants! If he leaves the room for a second, I hurry and straighten up the pillows and bed then he comes back and I swear the purposely messes it up to bug me again! I'm a little crazy about it I know...

3. This is used to be very embarrassing to me but now it's no longer a secret--my hands and feet sweat profusely! It's VERY bad! When Kent and I first started dating, he was trying to hold my hand at the movies and my palms were sweating SOO bad I didn't want him to know so instead I just tickled his arm the WHOLE movie to avoid palm to palm contact! I finally told him about it after we were married! He never started recognizing my problem until we were married! I hid it pretty well...I was afraid he wouldn't marry me if he found out...HA! He teases me because when we play XBox, my palms sweat so bad that I leave little water droplets on the remote....IT'S BAD! And now I have passed this wonderful trait down to my son. His hands and feet sweat like CRAZY!!!! Poor Boss!

4. I'm a HUGE LSU football fan! I LOVE the fall just because it's college football season! I get SOO into it and sometimes feel like I should be coaching...!! If I could I would make it to EVERY game. Sadly that's not possible right now but maybe one day! Kent and I are pulling for Boston to get on the team...

5. I'm the exact OPPOSITE of a pack rat! I can't stand keeping things that I never use! I don't even want to mention the things that I have just tossed in the trash...I'd probably give my mom a heart attack! I don't think twice about it..if it's hanging around and I NEVER use it....it gets thrown in the trash! I just figure that hey if I don't use it, why keep it around taking up space making things cluttered! I will say that I have now started putting things on Craigslist instead of throwing them away and have made some pretty good cash! But if they don't sell within 45 days...they'll be in the trash can.

6. I got my ears pierced at 22 years old! It's not that I was scared or anything. But the rule in our house was the we could get them pierced at 12. I was playing soccer year round my whole life and so I never had time and it wasn't a priority. I didn't want to play in games having to put tape over my earrings for 6-8 weeks! I just thought that looked stupid. So years went by and it never happened! When I got pregnant, I told myself AFTER the baby came I wanted to feel refreshed with a new hair highlight, pedicure (never happened), shopping spree (hasn't happened yet because I'm not where I want to be weight wise), and also to get my ears pierced FINALLY! Well I did highlight my hair and I finally came around and pierced my ears! I went to the mall and I didn't think I'd be nervous but I will say I was a little bit. Thanks Kristin for helping me through it and holding my hand! HA! I FINALLY DID IT!

Ok so I'm SOOO glad I finally found 6 interesting things about myself! This probably just made me look bad but oh well! But this seriously took me like an hour+ to do this so y'all should appreciate it! So now that I've done it..I'm going to pass it on and let others struggle to complete this task. The people I choose to tag are....: Kristin, Jamie, Kiers, Ciara, Stacy, Kelly, Katie and Alicia!
SONG OF THE SOUTH

This house is across the street for my parents (it doesn't show it very well) but I'm in LOVE with Louisiana oak trees and I want SOO bad to have one in my yard one day! True southern setting!

This past weekend Kent was going to Utah/Idaho to do some recruiting for work. So I decided I was going to head home for the weekend to go to the LSU VS. AUBURN GAME!!!!!! My weekend seemed like it was busy but it was VERY fun:
Thursday: Drove in with Boston crying majority of the trip. I think he was part constipated and part feeling bad from his little cold.

Friday: Mimi, Boss and I went shopping...ALWAYS FUN, we had lunch at my favorite mexican restaurant with Papa and Mimi at NINFA's, my uncle Mike and Aunt Jill and their girls came in that afternoon for the weekend and visited with them and their family.

Saturday: GAME DAY!!!!!!!! Kristin, Chad and the girls (AND baby BOY to come!) had driven through the night and arrived around 8 that morning...SOOO glad they came even though it was a quick trip. Then I went to an early lunch with my best friends from high school Bethany and Tina. SO fun to catch up with them for a little bit! My friend Katie was back in Louisiana to bless her baby and they came over to Baton Rouge for the game. Left for the game at like 6ish (game started at 8) and LOVED hanging out in Tiger Stadium for the night watching LSU beat Auburn in the last few seconds of the game!!!!!!! This night we got home around 1 am...TOTALLY worth it though!

Sunday: Woke up at 6:30 am to get ready to head to Thibodeaux for Katie's baby blessing in their ward. I got to visit with old friends in their ward which was really nice. I headed back home and got a shocking call from Kristin letting me know that in Jackson,MS on their way back to Kansas (yes TRUE LSU fans coming for gameday then heading back 12 hrs the very NEXT day!) they got in a bad car accident! I was VERY freaked out but luckily everything was okay with them. SOOO this meant that Mom and I dropped Boston off at Grandma's, who was SOO sweet to watch him last minute for us, and then headed 2 1/2 hrs to Jackson, MS with an extra car for them to drive the rest of the way to Kansas. We got back late that night, picked up Boston and again got to bed one more night.
Monday: This was a little more relaxing. I was supposed to leave this day but I was so tired of driving I wasn't about to drive back to Dallas just yet. S0 instead I finished posting some of my mom's old furniture items on Craigslist, finished painting her bar stools, went to Baby's R US to get toys for Boston for the trip home to avoid the crying, hung out with Mimi and Papa, and watched Dancing With the Stars.

Tuesday: I was planning on leaving when Boston woke up but somehow I hung around until noon...oh well. I got on the road and headed home to my husband! Boston did better...still had a few moments of screaming but it was better. We only had to stop once and I felt like we got home quicker than expected.

Ok so you're probably sick of reading about my little trip to Louisiana! But all in all it was a fun little trip! I'm gald I got to see my Uncle Mike and Aunt Jill and their girls since they haven't even seen Boston since he was born! And most of all I it was GREAT going to the LSU game! There is NO PLACE like TIGER STADIUM on a Saturday night!!!!

Mimi took the grandkids on a walk around the neighborhood--she's so sweet to them.

Hangin out in the stroller Sweet Rylee with Boston--he LOVES her!

TIGER STADIUM ON A SATURDAY NIGHT

Mike XI making his rounds around the stadium Kristin and I sportin our lucky LSU T-shirts (they have won everytime I wore this...that's every week...minus the UK game and I totally blame it on me not wearing my shirt!)

Tailgating is HUGE..I MEAN HUGE at LSU! These were two of the million RV's down there showing their true LSU pride!

Crazy LSU fan...yes this is a MAN sporting an LSU cheerleading outfit. He was also sporting cowboy boots...he may have been a little tipsy but I'm not sure.....

Going home, as well as everytime I go home, makes me really miss the southern feel of Louisiana. It really is different than any other place! Being at the LSU game made me miss it SOO much! There is TONS of energy and everyone around you becomes your friend! I LOVE IT! I always tell Kent that ONE day we're going to move back and have our big French Chateau house with a beautiful oak tree, having a crawfish boil with our southern friends (I guess those who aren't southern are invited too...), with season tickets to the LSU football games!

SUPPORTING AIDS IN AFRICA!

Do I sound like Oprah?! So I went into BabyGap a few days ago looking for some new clothes for Boston. He has almost outgrown most of his 3-6 month clothes and is in need of more 6-12 month clothes. I have been wanting to buy something from Bono's "RED" line for a long time. I don't know if all of you know what this is, but Gap has teamed up with Bono and has a line of clothing that when you buy it 50% of the proceeds go to helping get medicine to those who have aids in Africa. Good idea huh? Well I went over to the table where they had all these clothes and noticed they were all on sale! I was THRILLED and HAD to buy something! So I bought him a little outfit and was proud of my donation to society! =) Is it bad that it was on sale so I only gave $6.50 opposed to $12.50 to Africa's aid victims? And that one of the only other reasons I bought it was because it's still pretty warm in Texas and I needed to buy Boston something short sleeved and that was the ONLY thing that had short sleeves? Guess my donation is in vain....

OLD BUT NEVER BEEN POSTED!

Kristin took these pictures of Boston a LONG time ago for his birth announcement. I never posted them and found them today and thought I HAVE to put these up! I really loved how they turned out and even more I LOVE the finished product of the birth announcement! Thanks Kristin!

100% COMMITTED!

Boston is almost 5 months and I have been telling myself and telling myself that I was going to get my butt in gear to the gym ohhhh about 2 months ago! Every once in awhile I'll go hop on the tread mill but going every 2 weeks isn't going to help me loose these last 8 stubbborn pounds! I told myself last Friday that this IS the week! I AM GOING TO BE 100% COMMITTED to going to the gym and eating right so I can shed those last few pounds (and maybe a few more so I can be LESS then my starting pregnancy weight!). I have to say I'm proud of myself for getting up this morning---it was POURING down rain---but I did get up to head to step aerobics at 8:30 am! Getting up early lately has been SO hard-probably because Boston has been sleeping in until 9 every morning lately! BUT I DID IT and I'm proud to say I completed my first day of workout! I'll go again tomorrow and keep this regular routine up! I think I'm going to really enjoy the classes-step aerobics, pilates, cycling. I'm going to stay away from water aerobics though....not so confident to get into a swimsuit just yet!

CUTE THINGS BOSTON IS DOING:

  • Everytime Boston sees his bottle, he gets really quiet and starts reaching for it, opens his mouth, and slowly helps me bring it into his mouth.
  • He will randomly scream in a high pitched voice then finish with a smile.
  • He LOVES being naked and HATES when he has to put any clothes on.
  • When we eat in front of Boston, his eyes follow our food from our plate to our mouths! I want SOO bad to give him rice cereal or baby food but our doctor told us not to until 6 months and Kent INSISTS we listen and not do it a minute earlier..oh well, another month buddy!
  • If Boston could sleep ALL day I think he would! I can barely keep him awake for an hour until he starts to get a little fussy and wants to be put down again. I try to push for 2 hours but it doens't always work. The INSTANT I put him down he is OUT! Is this normal?
  • Everytime we go to get Boston up from his crib, he has his knees curled up underneath him. Kent swears he'll be crawling soon but I think it'll be a little bit longer.

ROAR!!!!!!!!

Today, we went and bought Boston's Halloween costume. They were on sale for 40% off at Old Navy so we got a good deal on it and I was so proud! I didn't want to wait until Halloween for Boston to wear it---plus I wanted to make sure it fit (size 6-12 month and he's barely 5 months)---so I put it on him and took a quick picture so ya'll could have a sneek peek!
I'm going to paint whiskers and a little nose when Halloween comes around but the final little lion will have to wait to be posted until then!

Best of Conference

Most of you know that this weekend was General Conference. I was SOO excited because Friday night Kent was flipping through our cable channels and randomly came across the BYU channel! I was thrilled because that meant on Saturday and Sunday we could watch conference at home! I was worried about how Boston would handle not having all his naps and instead going up to church for the sessions. Luckily, somehow, we got conference ALL weekend on our FREE cable (another story for different day).

As I was listening, I thought about one of my most memorable conference experiences ever. When we lived in Idaho, we would always drive down and go to conference with my dad who flew in town. So pretty much most of our married life, we have had to opportunity to attend the sessions. The one that I remember the most was the last one we were able to attend last October. President Hinckley got up to close the last session, bore a strong testimony---kind of leaving all thinking whether or not he would make it to April's conference---then the tabernacle choir stood and sang, "We Thank Thee O God For a Prophet." The spirit was SOO strong as they sang. Everyone stood and sang. The love for the prophet really came out and I don't know if there was a dry eye in the audience. Everyone stood through the closing prayer and then Pres. Hinckley was the first to leave, waving his cane saying bye to everyone. The spirit was so strong and I'll never forget that moment. That is BY far my most memorable conference experience EVER! I'll never forget it!

AND THE TIGERS WIN!!!!!!!

Tonight was probably one of the BEST nights in college football in a LONG time! Why?!?! Well, for those of you you happened to not catch the LSU vs. Florida game, I'll give you the update!

LSU 28 florida 24

ANOTHER VICTORY FOR OUR #1 TIGERS!!!!!!!!!! This was SUCH an important game: LSU the #1 team in the country playing last year's defending National Champion team! It's ALWAYS a difficult game for LSU and it makes me SOOO nervous! The game was VERY close and we were on the edge of our couch screaming and cheering the ENTIRE game! I seriously about had a heart attack throughout the WHOLE game! Especially when LSU made the WINNING touchdown!! I would like to give Hester props for SUCH a GREAT game! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The other PLUS for tonight is that usc and Stanford played....outcome of that game:

usc 23 Stanford 24

YEP! THAT'S RIGHT! The SO CALLED "#2 team" (who got beat out for the #1 spot last week by LSU) LOST to the UNRANKED Stanford...TO BAD SOOO SAD PETE CAROLL!!! I've been waiting for this upset FOREVER! And I finally got it on a PERFECT night! I despise USC and I am SOOOO glad they lost! To me this REALLY puts the stamp of approval on LSU being the #1 team in the NATION!!!! NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP HERE WE COME!!!!

SNIP SNIP!

Kent has been wanting to shave his head....oh probably since the first summer we were married. I denied him and denied him of doing that because I LOVE him with his spiked, styled hair! He always said he wanted it ATLEAST in the summer time so he could be cooler...but still no go! But for some reason last night, I got the erge to shave his head. Actually I think the deal went something like this, "Kent, if you let me have THIS house...then you can shave your head RIGHT NOW and the offer only stands RIGHT NOW!" Well, last night he didn't agree....AND he still HASN'T agreed but somehow he got his shaved head! I encouraged it today for some reason I guess more for curiousity of what his head looks like shaved than anything else. So during conference today, we shaved his head....

We played around to see what he would look like if he was balding....

The first shave straight down the center....

Completed look! You like?!

He looks SOOO different to me! I like it for a change but DEFINATELY not for forever! His hair grows fast THANKFULLY because I about freaked out today thinking that his head would STILL look like this for our family Christmas picture...but he assured me it will all be back in about a month and a half! FEW!

We just keep POPPIN EM OUT!

We went out to Utah to surprise my Dad for his 50th Birthday the end of August. I never posted about this MAINLY because I FAILED to bring my camera to the HUGE event. Kristin was going to get me a CD of her pictures, but I know she's really busy and that's not the #1 thing on her list. SOOOO no post of it all quite yet! But a few days ago my grandma sent me some pictures from our little family get together on Labor Day so I thought I'd atleast put these up!
All three of us cousins had our little babies weeks apart.
(from left to right) Chelsea had Tylee the end of May, Melissa had Cameron in April, and I had Boston May 24th!
It was SO fun to see their little babies and see the difference in sizes! Tylee is so petite and tiny! Boston is so chunky compared to them both! But they are all still VERY cute! Do you like how Boss looks likes he's mean muggin both of them?
Here's all 3 of them again: Mom with grandson, Aunt Deanne with HER grandson, and Grandma with her GREAT granddaughter!
I can't tell if Boston is scared or what ...Tylee is just so calm and chill here.
And here are all of Grandma's GREAT grandkids all together!
Ryker with sister Tylee, Jaxon with brother Cameron, Sophie, Boston, and Rylee!
(left to right)
They are ALL so cute and it was fun to see the older ones play together! It was such a fun day to spend with the family especially since we all don't get to see each other too often! Thanks so much Grandma and Jim for such a nice evening together with the family! I will post more about the weekend when I get the pictures....SO COMMON KRISTIN THE PRESSURE IS ON!

Attack of the Boppy!

Stella will ALWAYS attack Boston's boppy! It's SOO annoying and I really don't know why she feels she always has to attack it! Normally I get mad at her and tell her to stop, but today I let her just have fun!

OUR MOVE!

Part of the reason why I have not posted lately is due to the fact that we have been up in Idaho! Since we had such a crazy summer, this was the first time we were able to go up and collect all of our furniture and bring it back to Dallas! It was also a good excuse to go up and visit with Brandon and Amanda! It's sad not to have them just up the road from us any more to hang out with but it felt like we had never left when we were there! I got to eat at all my favorite Rexburg restuarunts (Winger's, Bajio's and Mill Hollow--even though the food there didn't taste so great that day!). Kent was busy most of the time recruiting guys for this upcoming summer while I just hung out with Amanda all day! It was a very chill, relaxing little vacation! Thanks Jamison's for letting us crash at your house AND letting us store our stuff in your garage all summer----SEE YA'LL IN VEGAS!

Like I said, the main reason we were there was to collect our stuff. Kent decided to go the Uhaul route and drive our stuff down himself instead of hiring a moving company....which after all the trouble and gas $money$ it cost us, I think he would have preferred to just have movers take care of it, oh well! Live and learn! Kent got in Monday (Boss and I flew back on Sunday) and since then we've slowly been unloading and unpacking all our stuff! It feels SOOO nice to have all our stuff back and finally make our apartment feel at home again! I've HATED living with rental stuff the past umm...6 months! So it will be REALLY nice when we find a place for everything. I think this apartment is a little TOO small for all the stuff we've collected over the past 3 years. I told Kent I think we've out grown an apartment but soon enough we'll be in a house which will be SOOO NICE!

This is the only part of the apt that looks SEMI put together...I made Kent hang the shelves today so I could get some stuff out of the way!
This is what our dining area looks like----SEE HOW MUCH STUFF WE HAVE THAT DOESN'T FIT!---KIDDING most of that stuff is the rental furniture that the rental company says they don't have TIME to pick up til next week....FUNNY because we had it SCHEDULED to be picked up this PAST Monday!
LSU---LSU---LSU!!!!!!!!!!

Kent for some reason isn't sporting his LSU gear...but I promise we do have lots of spirit!
My favorite thing about the fall is OF COURSE college football! Mainly LSU football! I LOVE Saturday's because Kent and I (and Boston now too...we are prepin him for his future in football as a linebacker!) pretty much just sit watching all the college football games and snack on hot wings, pizza, dips, etc! LSU has FINALLY knocked USC out of the #1 spot and taken it over! They totally deserve it since the SEC is a MUCH more difficult conference! I'm SOOO proud of them so far this season but there are STILL some VERY big games to come-----THIS SATURDAY FLORIDA....AH! But we'll pull through...I KNOW this will be the year that we get to kick USC TRASH in the National Championship and prove to them who is REALLY #1! There will be no more of this "sharing the national championship" crap!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Okay, so my birthday was like 2 weeks ago, but life has been crazy hectic lately so this is the first chance I've had to get on and blog about life the past little while!

On my birthday, Sept 20th, I had an unexpected surprise come knocking on my door. IT WAS MY MOM! I was VERY thrilled to see her there! I was really hoping someone would come to share this day with me! I mean, yes, Kent and Boston were there but it's always nice to have more family to celebrate with. My day was great! Kiers was so sweet and took me to lunch and treated me to a MUCH needed pedicure! Thanks again! It was FABULOUS! Then we had Kent's softball game that night which I always enjoy going to see him play! It's totally his thing, and I must brag for a minute on my hubbie and say that's his pretty dang good! HA! After his game I chose to eat at La Hacienda Ranch....DELICIOUS MEXICAN FOOD! After a late dinner, we celebrated more by opening presents and eating the homemade cake Kent made me! I think this is the 2nd cake he's made me and they are always creative and delicious! Kent gave me some new clothes for Boston and some much needed new running shoes---I don't know if my feet have grown post pregnacy or what but my old ones are WAY too small also the reason why I haven't lost all my pregnacy lbs since I haven't really been able to workout without good running shoes! Mom treated me to a nice day of shopping! I think everything I bought was pretty much for Boston! Carol was sooo sweet and sent me some cash--which again was spent on Boston! Kari just gave me her present which was a gift card to Pottery Barn---aka stuff for Boston's nursery! And Kelli gave me some cash which will probably also go towards BOSTON! HA! I guess things change when you have kids! I keep telling myself to spend it on something for ME but I just can't bring myself to do it! Oh well! All in all it was a WONDERFUL day! Thanks everyone for all the FABULOUS gifts! And thanks MOM for coming for the weekend---it was GREAT having you here!

Kent was VERY anxious to put the icing on the cak when it was still warm that's why all of it slid to the sides! By the way...like the message he wrote on the cake?!? That's Kent for you!

My cute new running shoes that are SOOO COMFY! Love 'em!
