For Halloween, we decided to travel on down to Houston to continue our tradition of trick or treating with the Buchanan's. The boys were THRILLED to be able to spend Halloween with their best buds!
This year, we decided to go with a "spooky" theme for costumes. I'm thankful that another year went by and I was able to keep a theme going with the kids. Not sure if I will have any more left after this one. After seeing nothing but CORNY mummy costumes, I decided to make my own. Couldn't be hard to throw together some rags.
Wrong.
They definitely took more effort than you would think ESPECIALLY when they need to be worn more than once. Thankfully, after some stress, they turned out and I was quite proud.
The older boys thoroughly enjoyed getting into character. Nolan on the other hand wanted nothing to do with his head piece OR makeup. Sometimes, I just gotta let go (words according to Kent).
The boys loaded up their bellies before it was time to hit the doors.
They were lucky enough to be able to hitch a ride with Ashley's neighbor who had their own little hay ride going on.....then we eventually got left behind and the kids had to suffer and run house to house (which is a task when the houses are so far spread apart).
These two have no idea how lucky they got it that night.
There were a couple "spooky" houses all done up. I totally love it. I kept making mental note of what I want to do to our house one day!
The boys always tend to walk up to these houses with a little more caution.
Seriously priceless.
By the end, these kids were straight EXHAUSTED and SWEATING. My boys had stripped their mummy costumes little by little as the night went on. All my hard work down the drain just like that!
Plenty of fun, spookiness and candy made for another successful Halloween!
