CRAZY BUSY!

Okay, call me crazy but there have been times when I've been envious of celebs crazy busy, on-the-go lifestyles. I always thought it'd kind of be nice to travel to cool places, doing cool things 24/7! Well, these past few weeks I've experienced a little bit of that and now all I want to do is sit down and catch up on my missed OPRAHS! I've had VERY little time to do ANYTHING! Anway, here's a quick update on a few things that have happened in the past few weeks....sorry this won't be long but I needed a quick break from packing and I HAD to update. Does anyone else stress when you don't have an updated blog and stuff is just building up and building up and NOT getting posted?



After we left Louisiana from our cruise, the next day my parents follwed us back to the BIG D to watch the BYU vs. TCU game (I'm serious when I say my dad is the BIGGEST BYU FOOTBALL fan EVER! Trust me, he's obsessed!) They stayed for a few days and took a QUICK break from their busy, stress filled lives! So Thursday we hit up the BYU game....

Although we LOOK happy here, the game didn't END happy....sorry dad. Hey, atleast your prediction of BYU being ranked higher than LSU lasted....a week..

Then on Friday, we hit up the TEXAS STATE FAIR where we spent our LIFE SAVINGS! This place was SOO pricey! One ride was like $3-$4 and since someone had to ride WITH Boston, THEY had to spend ANOTHER $3-$4...dont even get me started on the food! So each ride basically cost $8! Thankfully we had Daddy Warbucks who bought some coupons for Boston to ride a few rides and have a fun night (thanks Dad, Boston LOVED EVERY minute)!

After looking at ALL her options for her NEXT vehicle, my mom undoubtly decided she wanted to stick with the Navigator (you can't talk this woman into change for ANYTHING)..although she did decide that she liked the new Navigator XL better for the extra trunk space. I guess that's a start?

Boston loves cars almost as much as his dad. We let him get out and walk around and he'd go up to EVERY car and try to open the door and climb up in the driver seat! He'd push ALL the buttons and turn the wheel acting like he'd been doing this for YEARS!

Mom and Dad weren't feeling the fair food sooo they settled for a $50 fresh squeezed lemonade. Okay, it wasn't quite $50 but it was close!

Don't you think Kent could be the next Dr. Pepper model?

Next we hit up the rides...

Then we were all tuckered out and ready to go! Boston LOVED his first fair experience. I wish we would've had time for more, I've never been to a state fair that HUGE! Oh, and J. Simpson (that's JESSICA Simpson for all those NON-fans out there) was performing that night. Unfortunately, I wasn't with any TRUE fans so we only caught her singing in the distant.

Thanks Mom and Dad for coming to visit! Sorry it was so quick and sorry even more that BYU couldn't pull it off for you. We LOVED having ya'll come as ALWAYS!

P.S. I know I said this would be short but Kent went to get something sweet for us and so I took a longer packing break. PLUS now I feel SOO much better that atleast I have a little bit updated!

SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY

We ported in New Orleans for our cruise which made it actually quite nice for us. Stephanie and Jeremy were leaving Tuesday morning so we had a little time to show them a few things in Louisiana. Jeremy really wanted to see a gator and we knew JUST the place--ALLIGATOR BAYOU! Unfortunately, we couldn't get our canoe in time to go explore the swamp BUT we did get a glimpse of one that was just off the road. Can you see him?

Jeremy was throwing rock after rock trying to get this guy to move but I think he was WAY TOO comfortable to leave his spot! Sorry we didn't get to see more ya'll---next year!

Since that was a little disappointing, we brought them too the notorious grave in Springfield, LA! I think I've been here a thousand times and every time I'm just as scared...it never fails! On our drive down the long, dark, scary road to get to this grave, Tomika (our GPS, yes that's what we call her) all the sudden came on and said "TURN AROUND WHEN POSSIBLE!" I think the volume was ALL the way up! It made me scream so loud that I threw the GPS into Kent's lap, which made HIM jump! I think my reaction freaked everyone else out instead of Tomika's random words! Of course we always tell freaky stories on the way down to get ourselves psyched up. Again, it always works for me no matter how many times I do this! Anyway, we successfully got to the grave, saw it, examined it, and left without getting caught! Here's the tombstone:

What's the supposed story you ask? Well for those of you who have never been here before with me, this is the grave of a 16 year old boy who was killed in a hit and run accident. The story is that the day after they buried him, his parents went to place flowers on his grave and this was in scripted on the back of the grave---a full detail of the accident, along with the name of the man who hit him. Supposedly 2 weeks after this was done, the same man whose name is on the back of the grave turned himself in for hitting and killing this boy. There were no burn marks, shavings or any other sign of someone carving anything on this grave overnight. They say it's impossible to do this kind of detail on a tombstone overnight. Supposedly, they've matched the handwriting to the little boys.....

Again, that's what the RUMOR was! Well after we got home that night, Stephanie and I decided to do some investigative work. There's not a whole lot on it BUT apparently this story is false...sad I know! CRUISING THE CARRIBEAN!

WOW! Have I been super busy or what lately? I don't feel like we've slown down in the past 2 weeks! Anway, we got back Tuesday from our FABULOUS (as Kimora says) vacation on a cruise! This was my FIRST time cruisin and I must say a TOTAL blast and VERY relaxing! We left little Boss man behind with my parents (THANKS A BAZILLION AGAIN!) and headed for our boat (or ship..whatever you wanna call it).

THIS is how we got on the cruise in record timing of 20 min compared to everyone else's 2 hour wait! Kent flirted and spoke a little ghetto talk with one of the workers and she sent us straight to the top with Kent's "gimp" leg! Everyone was quite impressed with Kent's skills.

We ate til we were about to BLOW! Notice Chase's "pregnant belly" after one of our meals!

We hit up Cozumel where we snorkled (sorry no pics of that) at a nice all inclusive resort where we watched a black lady freak out about getting in and out of one of the hammocks and some TOTALLY DRUNK LSU fans doing what they do best--being loud, talking trash and drinking!

My first time on a little moped! Kent and I cruised all of Cozumel on this thing yelling out "HOLA" every where we went waving to all the little MEH-HE-CAN-O-S (Kiers no worries, I told your ancestors hello..)

We had UNLIMITED ice cream which I think I ate 3-4 cones in one sitting and of course one night Kent felt the need to make the biggest ice cream cone and NO he DID NOT succesfully eat that!

We had a friend waiting for his every night when we got back to our room.

I think our waiters all serenaded us this night with some Italian song and most of them were Philipino, Asian or something to that affect...it was entertaining though!

• The HAIREST MAN competition (why that's something to be proud of I don't know...)
• WAY TOO many women who were in swimsuits they shouldn't have been in
• The 100 lbs I gained from all the food I ate
• The night we hit up the dance floor and showed off our moves and learned the CUPID SHUFFLE (okay, don't make fun of us for just learning it...and for those of you who have NO IDEA what I'm talking about, that just makes me feel that much better about learning it so late!)
• The waterslide to which for the first time I came to a complete halt in the middle of
• LSU took a slaughtering to Florida...the boat was bad luck
• MANY drunks making fools of themselves (many 40+ yr olds thinking they were still 18)

So we ate too much, caught a tan, drank too much (my fountain card gave me unlimited cokes to which now I MUST have a DP everyday or the headaches come on), relaxed too much and partied like we were 18 again! It was SUCH a fun vaca and I was SAD when it was over! Although, it was nice to see our little man again finally!

OH! And Kent brought sexy back!!!!

A TALKING TANNING BED?

To prepare for our Caribbean get away next week, I bought a tanning bed membership in order to be prepared for the sun and to not be too pasty in my swimsuit. I go into the tanning salon today and these little salesman are CONSTANTLY trying to get you to buy lotion, upgraded beds, and who knows what else. I, of course, always decline and turn my head to roll my eyes (it's SOOO annoying! All I want to do is tan people!). Today, the lady informs me that I have "credits" on my account to tan in their level 4 bed. At first I decline thinking that it was going to cost me money but then realized I DID in fact have credits on my account to upgrade! So I took it! I don't know how many of you have seen the latest in tanning techno these days BUT as I go into the room this bed was MASSIVE with all kinds of lights and contraptions that I'd NEVER seen before. Anyway, I proceed to get in and as I push the power button this MAN starts talking! Initially it honestly made me jump scared a little! He talked to me about how the bed worked, which buttons to push, how to turn up the fan, how to adjust to volume of the radio, etc! HE SAID EVERYTHING!!! Honestly, I didn't quite like it. I felt like he was SOOO loud that EVERYONE in the salon could here him!! I tried not to push any buttons because I didn't want him to talk ANYMORE. The tanning sessions ends (he tells me that), I get out and the music all the sudden changes from Leona Lewis to some techno music that starting BLARING! I mean it was SOOOOOOO loud! I tried adjusting the volume but nothing worked! So I hurried and got my things and bolted out still being able to hear the music ALL THE WAY TO THE FRONT OF THE SALON! Oh level 4 bed! I will NEVER use you again! Not only were you loud and obnoxious BUT I also left with burnt red lips!

WOW, THE BIG 2-4!

My birthday was probably 2 weeks ago or so while we were in Utah house hunting (more to come on that later). I was a litte bit disappointed that we were flying out on my birthday to Utah and that it was going to be a crappy day filled with very little celebration. I'm happy to say that my husband and sisters proved me wrong! Kent brought home donuts (although I didn't get a single ONE before they were eaten), gave me my WONDERFUL WRAPPED presents, my mom had a layover at DFW so I was able to hang out with her for a few hours, Boston was GREAT on the plane, we arrived to Kari's in Utah with FOOD GALORE and presents, cake and ice cream to go with, and on top of THAT LSU BEAT AUBURN in honor of my birthday! So although I had about 4 hours of travel in there, the day was GREAT! Thanks to everyone for making my day SOO special! And yes, we did sport our lucky LSU gear ALL day letting everyone on the flight know who we were cheering for!

TODAY WAS A ROUGH DAY!

I think Boston was just trying to teach me patience...

MR. INDEPENDENT!

I don't know necessarily when the right "time" is to allow your child to feed them self so I don't know if I'm totally late on this or right on or what. BUT Sunday was the first time I let Boston try to use silverware. Part of the reason why I've been putting it off is because I'm a little bit of a clean freak and I HATE messes and I KNEW it would be messy and quite frankly I didn't want to deal with cleaning it up! So I caved Sunday and decided to let him try it. I was VERY impressed with my little man. It was funny to watch him get the mashed potatoes on the spoon. He was VERY into it and was concentrating SO hard. He took this new freedom VERY seriously as he usually does with exploring and learning new things. Although he's not quite perfected it, he IS getting the hang of it!
