The other morning, Boston came into our room crying because he was soaking wet from peeing the bed. After getting changed and cleaned up, Kent asked him why he wet the bed and didn't wake up to get to the toilet. Frustrated, he responded, "I THOUGHT I WAS ON THE TOILET!"
I think we've ALL had that dream...

America
The 4th of July...probably one of my favorite times of the year. Why? My whole family comes to Baton Rouge and we always have a BLAST together. For some reason this year (more than most) it made me want soooo badly for us all to live closer to each other. But for now, we've just got to enjoy the moments we DO get to be close. This fourth was a little bit more low key than other years. Why? Kelli was got married 3 days later (more coming on that soon) and with all the craziness with that planning, we didn't think we should add any more stress. It was still fun though and we DEFINITELY made memories! For the last few years, every time we've taken this picture, I think a new body has made the picture!
Sadly, Kent had to miss out on the fun this year. He couldn't miss that much work with the wedding later that week. I was sad he wasn't there but I guess that's life. Hudson wouldn't let go of that ball for ANYTHING! This kid is seriously OBSESSED!

Mimi and Papa with all their grand kids
Combe Family
My sweet Krew boy. I seriously don't see enough of this kid. Love him.
We started our day out swimming.
Then we moved on to a smaller version of our Olympics this year. First up, waterballoon toss. Rylee and Sophie didn't have TOO much competition this time but watch out in the years to come...
Then it was the adults turn. Kelli and Tanor held their title as reigning champions.
Next up, pie eating contest.
The girls tied again on this one.
Even the younger ones enjoyed a little pie
Especially Lan man!
Then it was the adults turn. Pretty sure Chad, Brandon or Tanor won...I don't remember because I was already plotting my next step....moments after this picture I was chunking the left over pies at everyone starting a PIE FIGHT!
That led me to getting thrown into the pool by Chad. Hudson was a little nervous for me during the whole process. Glad SOME body watches out for me.
Then, Kristin, Kelli and I attacked Kari. Chad was the smart one and came up behind us and pushed us ALL in the pool.
Good times.
Like I mentioned before, Hudson is OBSESSED with balls and never wants to stop shooting hoops in the pool. Tanor become a close buddy of Hudson's until daddy came back around.
After we chowed down on some delicious burgers and hot dogs, it started getting dark. The temperature was PERFECT this year since it was overcast all day which meant for a wonderful evening outside lighting fireworks. It was Krew's first year to be trusted with the sparklers. This kid LOVED it and almost lit a few people on fire in the process.
Boston saw this and said that he looks SIX years old in this picture. He actually looks bigger to me too...this can't be happening.
Charlie was still a TAD afraid this year of all the fireworks and sat in Kristin's lap like this most of the night.
Our show wasn't quite as big as usual (like I said, we cut back due to the wedding) but the big boys had fun nonetheless.
It was still a great show and we all LOVED every minute of it.
HAPPY FOURTH!
This year I wanted to be more in the spirit of the fourth and try to remember why we celebrate this holiday every year. While I was reading up on it, I learned an interesting fact: Both John Adams & Thomas Jefferson, the only signers of the Declaration of Independence to later serve as U.S. Presidents, died on the same day: July 4, 1826--the 50th anniversary of the Declaration.
I love America.
