MY CHILD CAN DO WHAT?!?

We have been quite the sick house this past week. It all started with Kent then to Boston and now I've come up with it! What a mess! I felt the worst for Boston being sick. You feel soooo helpless as a parent. It was funny though because on day two of being sick, he'd get these spurts of energy and then crash 2 hrs later. I'm grateful for those little spurts of energy because I found out that my son new quite a few songs that he could sing by HIMSELF and would get upset if you TRIED to help! THEN he started counting to TEN in SPANISH (thank you DORA) out of KNOW WHERE! I had absolutely NOOOOO idea he could do this! Guess I underestimated my son! Lucky for me, he actually LET me video tape him! In case you can't TOTALLY understand, the 1st song is "You Are My Sunshine" and the 2nd song is "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." Apparently he also knows "I Am a Child of God" and "I Love to See the Temple." There may be MORE but nothing has come out yet. I've been singing him all these songs since he was in my belly so it's SOOOO exciting to hear HIM sing them! Love this guy!!

CRUISIN THE CARIBBEAN BABAY!

Last week we were lucky enough to have a little week long getaway to the Caribbean. Every year the company Kent works for takes some of their employees on a cruise and let me tell you, THIS is what gets me through the summer!!
We had 2 1/2 days until we got to JAMAICA MON so we tried to keep ourselves busy. We caught some rays by the pool...

We sang a little karaoke (ME: PIANO MAN...this is a MUST on karaoke night) which Kent PROMISED he'd sing ONE song before the cruise was over....yeah NEVER happened!

We starting a fun little Texas Hold'em game (yes, I will PROUDLY say I WON) which turned into us getting a little TOO confident and turned into us loosing just a little....well a little TOO much at the boat's casino! Yes, we learned our lesson and understand now why you shouldn't gamble. It was our 1st time and we went a little crazy. We came away with a total of $0.00 (yes the casino also decided to also take my winnings from our innocent TX Hold'em game...stupid casino) which taught us our lesson (sorry mom and dad...).

We ate......we ate ALOT! Guess that's what happens when you have UNLIMITED food and can order BLT's to your room at 3 am....

I was excited to see what towel friend we had waiting for us every night. This was our monkey although I think my fav was the stingray.

Our 1st stop was JAMAICA MON where we decided to climb Dunn's River Falls. It was BEAUTIFUL!

Like the necklace Kent was conned into buying?
We have decided that Jamaica was a one time thing. It was beautiful and a fun experience but DEFINATELY our LEAST favorite. Soooooooooo many of the locals try and TRY to get you to buy stuff (I mean they are TEN TIMES more persistant than the mexi's) and then try and make you feel ULTRA guilty if you don't buy. One guy said this to Kent:

Jamaica mon: "Buy a necklace for the lady!"

Kent: "Nah, that's alright"

Jamaica mon: "Common, mon, I know you got the money! Help a poor mon out!"

Kent: "No, we're fine. Thanks though."

Jamaica mon: "Mon, you rich Americans, I know you got like 6 cars at home with 6 wives!"

Kent laughed and walked away.

But SERIOUSLY it's SOOO annoying and SUCH a turnoff. Aside from that, its WAAAY dangerous. In fact, we saw a random fight on the street where two guys were yelling and one was holding a mishedy. Yep, just right there on the side of the road!!! Crazy stuff in Jamaica mon!

That night while waiting for dinner, we got down with the servers. It's sooo funny to watch them break out in dance every night especially to like ghetto music while you're having a nice formal dinner. AWE.SOME.!

Kent started with a beard then shaved it each day to something a little less everytime. He went to a goatie and then to this WONDERFUL handle bar mustache. YEP! That's my man!

Next stop, GRAND CAYMAN (MY FAV BY FAR!). It was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and VERRRRY different from Jamaica. No one was pushy, everyone was friendly and it felt VERY safe! I'm DYING to go back!
We were supposed to go swim with the stingrays but due to our late night partying, we ended up sleeping in and headed to the beach and just relaxed. I L.O.V.E.D. every minute of it!
Finally, our last stop was COZUMEL. We'd been here before but it was nice to go back and do something different than before.
We decided to hit up Mexico's deep sea fishing for the day. Was it at all what we expected? No! Not at all. Fishing off the Gulf is DEFINITELY much better (so I've heard) but you live and learn. Some one's gotta teach those mexi's how to FISH!!!
The waves were REALLY big the day we went! Luckily, I took medicine and didn't get sick. JB was throwing up over the edge the whole time. Kent took ZERO medicine and somehow managed not to get sick regardless....I was amazed at that!

I caught my 1st fish from the deep blue ocean....a BARRACUDA!
Kent reeled himself in a BARRACUDA!
In fact, we ALL caught BARRACUDAS! That Mexico fishing....

We were all VERRRY happy to be DONE!
It was a GREAT trip and it was nice to get away a relax and reboot. I will say 7 days was LONG enough to be away from our little man!!!!! We were definitely VERY ready to see his sweet face again!!!

SOME BIG NEWS!!!!!!
I just wanted to clear the air really quickly. I have had some people wondering and spreading word on if there's a little baby floating around in my tummy. The answer to that is.............
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just wanted to get things straight and get THAT thought out of people's minds.
I have more posting to come but since we've been out of town, my tivo and house upkeep have taken precedence over blogging! Sorry. More to come soon!
