Pumpkin Patch 2011

We had our annual outing to the pumpkin patch for FHE Monday. This pumpkin patch REALLY looked like the economy hit this thing hard because it seemed SO much smaller than last year and it REALLY made me miss my precious Flowermound pumpkin patch in Dallas even more! Oh well, you work with what you have, right? Boston RAN over to this pumpkin head LSU player. He thought it was pretty cool.

Yes, I put Hudson in a sweater and it was 87 degrees that day. But common, it was the only thing that coordinated with Boston!!! People there probably thought I was CRAZY!

We put Hudson in Boston's lap and he did NOT know what to think of the feel of that hay which meant NO good smiley picture like he usually gives us.

See how focused he is....

We wheeled the wagon around looking for the PERFECT pumpkin. The boys loved the wagon ride!

Kent did NOT care to try to coordinate for pictures and I didn't try to push the issue....

We walked away with our 2 pumpkins (they honestly aren't the most PEFRECT pumpkins but like I said, slim pickins there this year)!

Now Boston is anxiously awaiting carving time to make "SCARY SCARY faces" on our jack-o-lanterns!

Meeting Landry

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to head to Kansas to meet little Landry (3 weeks old)

And also to see these sweet faces

I was able to spend the week with them while Chad was out of town. I got to see what it was like to try to juggle FOUR kids. Between school, homework, activities, making dinner, bathing, bedtimes, handling a newborn, etc. let me tell you it is ONE BUSY JOB (hats off to you Kristin)!!! We didn't do much because we were so busy handling kids. Although we DID manage to squeeze in a little bit of shopping (once or twice). It was so nice spending time with my big sis and her kids. I love them so much & often get sad that none of my sisters and I live close.

Did I mention I brought ZERO kids with me (a plane ride with only my purse and ME....WOW!)??? Yes, that means Kent was in charge for ONE WHOLE WEEK! He's amazing and a trooper. After being gone for a week I can say he TRULY, TRULY appreciates my role as a mother. Its funny to see the small ways he has pitched in even more than he usually does since I've been home. Aside from being mom for the week Kent also became pretty domestic and SEWED up part of Hudson's Halloween costume (seriously, I don't even SEW)! Pretty amazing, yes. Gotta love that man.

Children's Museum

A few weeks ago, we headed down to the Houston's Children's Museum to help celebrate little Isabel's FOURTH birthday. We've been one time before and loved it and were TOTALLY down to try it again. Boston was VERY anxious to get to his favorite part from last time--building!

The kids entertained us with a puppet show.

We did a little face painting and Boston got into full character.

We found mini Mexico which we DIDN'T find before. The kids loved this part.

Boston whipping up a good ole Mexican meal.

Hudson was happy to get out of his stroller and watch the pretend fountain.

Next, the kids became scientists.

And also fixed and sold us bikes in the bike shop (hadn't done this before either).

After spending quite a bit of time there we were about ready to head out for some lunch but couldn't leave without playing in the water outside!

My little Huddy Hud got so sleepy and passed out! I LOVE this picture of my sweet boy.

We did so much more I don't have pictures of but we also didn't do EVERYTHING. That children's museum has so much to do and really is amazing!! When we had worn ourselves out, we headed over to CPK (on a major detour route) for Isabel's birthday lunch. We enjoyed a scrumptious lunch and gave Isabel some fun gifts for her birthday.

Mama's bff's.....kids bff's??

Happy Birthday Isabel! Thanks for letting us share you in your special day!

9 months

That 8th month flew by and now we have hit the 9 month mark! I can not believe this little joy has only been here with us 9 short months. It feels like we've had him forever yet at the same time he's growing SO fast!

Hudson Boston

9 month stats:

Weight: 21.25--76%

Boston: 22--73%

Height: 27 3/4 inches--26%

Boston: 28 inches--50%

Head: 18 3/4 inches--72%

Boston: 17.5--45%

This boy is my BUSY child. Into every thing and going every where! I've always got to keep my eye on him. This kid gets SO many bumps and bruises on his face from being clumsy and thinking he is bigger then he is. You'll notice MANY of them through all these pictures.

One of my favorite things about having two boys is the relationship they have with each other. Maybe its silly to think they have a relationship already with one being 4 and the other 9 months but they DO! Hudson's favorite room to play in is Boston's. I always catch him sneaking in there and he just laughs and crawls fast to get away from me. Its hilarious. Boston LOVES being the big brother and Hudson just ADORES him (let's hope this lasts forever...). Their favorite "game" they play is Hudson tackling Boston (Boston MIGHT feel differently about this game when Hudson gets older). Hudson climbs on top of Boston and they both think its just hilarious!

Notice the bruise on Hudson's forehead.

Boston LOVES to go into Hudson room when he wakes up in the morning or from naps. Hudson gets SO excited and they just play together in his crib.

Boston figured out that he can pick up Hudson the other day. This is now helpful when my hands are tied making dinner and Hudson is getting into something he shouldn't.

Hudson now thinks he is big enough to walk and LOVES being walked around the house with you holding his hands. He walks around like a model...one foot right in front of the other. Its hilarious.

We pulled out the push toy from storage and at first Hudson was not very good at it but the last few days he's gotten better and better at pushing that thing around.

Like I said, this boy gets into EVERY THING! Sometimes its entertaining and sometimes not so much.

Other accomplishments Hudson has made is breaking FOUR new teeth up top making a total of SIX teeth. Let me tell you this was a whirlwind with this boy with MANY interrupted nights of sleep & grouchiness during the day. I think he's getting two more on the bottom so I'm afraid this whole teething thing isn't over yet. He has started to wave although he doesn't always do it on cue. He babbles some and I'm working on "mama" but he only says "mmmm." He's clapped his hands ONCE and I'm anxiously awaiting round 2!

We love this boy and can't wait to see what this month will bring! Love you HUDDY HUD/THE DESTROYER/PORCOSPINO!!!
