HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!

So last weekend, we made a quick trip to Baton Rouge. My bff since high school , Jenn, was having her bridal shower so I was lucky enough to make it over for that. It was a VERY quick trip (like left Saturday evening came home Monday morning quick trip...) but it was fun to go and see all my old friends and also enjoy spending my 25th BIRTHDAY with my parents!

How gorgeous is the decor? Really, it was ALL BEAUTIFUL!

My bday was a pretty busy day, so Kent was DETERMINED to make it a special one. He honestly is the BEST and I'm so grateful to have him. Friday before my birthday he made arrangements to go to dinner with the Eastman's at PF Changs so I could enjoy "eating out" (which I LOVE to do)! Sunday he took FULL responsibility of Boston (including getting ready for church AND bed, changing ALL 5 poopie diapers he had, playing with him, and allowing me to relax from motherly duties). My dad made the Bluth family's FAMOUS ENCHILADAS (when I say famous, they really are...that's a story for another day) which is something we don't get very often, followed by cake and ice cream courtesy of my mother! Hillary, John and Melia were also able to come over to eat cake and ice cream as well which was fun to see Boston and Melia get to play! It was a fun quick trip and a memorable birthday!!!

For my birthday, Kent got me a FLIP camera (which I LOVE and have wanted) but the BEST part of this gift was that he recorded a bunch of people on the camera wishing me birthday wishes! Here's his video birthday wishes to me!

P.S. Do you LOVE his slick way of saying that he could use this camera for his work purposes as well?! Now we know why he REALLY bought that camera....

This summer I've literally been ADDICTED to eating a WHOLE bag of THIS in one night all for myself on multiple occasions:

DEEP SEA FISHIN' IT!

A few weeks ago, Kent was able to go with a few of the sales reps into the gulf to go deep sea fishing! I was and STILL am a little jealous that we were unable to find someone to watch Boston so I could go! Do I like fish? No. But I'd LOVE to do this!!! That's okay, my opportunity to go is about 2 weeks away! But here are a few pictures from their little adventure:

The guys all came home that night ready to grill and fry up some fish. I was daring and decided I'd TRY (I am NOT a fish eater...something about slimy, swimy creatures living in the ocean grosses me out). My reviews? I LOVED the shark....FRIED of course (because what DOESN'T taste better fried???). So now, I have fish sitting in my freezer waiting to be cooked. Will I be cooking it? NOPE! That's Kent's job or else I will puke and be unable to even TRY to eat it! I'm glad he got a day to relax finally. This summer has been a busy one for him so he deserved it!

HAPPY FOR FALL TV!

Yes, there are MANY shows I'm excited to have back on my Tivo now that fall is finally here (I told my sister just yesterday my list of shows and I must admit there are QUITE a few!) BUT there's one face I'm SOOO happy to see daily again:

I know my Republican family HATES this (and trust me this DOES NOT make me lean AT ALL to the left but I'll have you know when I disagree, I DO shoot Oprah an email! Involved too much, yes...) but I can't resist watching and you can't DENY that she has some GREAT shows. Oh Oprah, how I love that you're BACK!!!!

PERKS OF H-TOWN!

One benefit (you won't hear of many) of living in Houston is that we only live 4 hrs from Baton Rouge so we can see family often and have quick weekend visits. Well that's what happened last weekend when my parents decided to hang out with us Labor Day weekend. My dad had some SWEET seats to the BYU vs OU game so he came Friday to Houston, left Saturday and drove to Dallas then came back that night before leaving Sunday evening. Crazy man he is!! BYU is his team and seriously, if you only KNEW how big of fan my dad is....its quite hilarious sometimes but we love him for it regardless. Especially after THAT win last week, I wish I would've fought harder for that 2nd ticket he had! Anyway, since dad was off in Dallas, mom and I decided to make the most of the short visit we had. Saturday (BEFORE the games) we took Boston to Oil Ranch which I've been DYING to take him too FOREVER! It really was a fun little place and I must say, I'm pretty sure my son had a fabulous time as well! Thanks Mimi!

He rode a horse for the FIRST time....L.O.V.E.D.!

We kept getting rammed by that ugly guy in the background so we didn't hang out in here for long.

Possibly one of Bubba's FAVORITE parts was the train ride. This boy LOVES trains! He was literally on cloud nine the WHOLE time!

We got to meet Betsy the cow and see her pump out some milk. We tried to explain that that's where Bubba's milk comes from but I'm pretty sure he didn't necessarily grasp that concept....

Boston got to play in the haystacks (in the back of my mind I kept thinking that at ANY moment mice were going to come running out EVERYWHERE).

Lastly, we went on a tractor ride to feed the cows. These cows were FAT (probably almost ready to hit the slaughter house) and wanting to get as much food from you as POSSIBLE!!

Their tongues were long and black and they had snot/drool stuff coming out everywhere. It was interesting none the less but FUN!

It was VERY fun and we'll definitely be going back (this time WITH our stroller) in the fall when they have their pumpkin patch.

We of course finished up the day with watching college football! Sunday, we headed to church and then later that evening my parents bailed and headed back to Louisiana. It was quick but it was fun and Boston absolutely loves, loves, LOVES having his Mimi and Papa come visit. It seriously cracks me up how excited he gets! COME BACK SOON!

OLDIES BUT GOODIES!

I was looking back at some pictures of Boston and found one of my favs!!! I just LOVE this little face and could just squeeze him to pieces!

Also, Kent has also officially booked his ticket AND the Penske truck to collect all our stuff from Utah! Only a month and a half and I can FINALLY have my things back!!!!!!! If you only KNEW how excited I am!!!!

WHERE WILL THE HOOPERS BE NEXT?!

So for those of you who care to even TRY to keep up with our constant whereabouts, it is finally official of where we'll be settling for the next little while. When I say LITTLE while, I'm really crossing my fingers it's only for a LITTLE while!

Yep! Houston is the place for now. Am I thrilled? No. Not even to say the least. But for us right now, it's where we need to be. One of these days I SWEAR my life will settle down and be "normal" although somehow I DO doubt that.

FOOTBALL BEGINS!!!!!!!

Okay, I must admit that I love fall for ONE reason....COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!!!! If you only knew how much I love it....

Anyway, Saturday marked the kickoff of the season! Can I say I was BLOWN away by BYU's WIN over Oklahoma...I mean seriously? I think I about had a heart attack! We were blown away by surprise and COMPLETELY thrilled! Now I REALLY wish I would've gotten to go with my dad to the game! GOOOO COUGARS!!!!!!

OKLAHOMA: 13

Next game...LSU!!!! Can I just say I was THRILLED to finally see the Tigers play but I TOTALLY felt like it was a B-O-R-I-N-G game! Maybe because I just saw an amazing game prior but I was really bored. Sorry Tigers. But good news...WE WON!!!!! Although I really hope they look better in games to come....

A NEW TOY?!

Since we were watching Haylie a few days last week, Boston was lucky enough to get to play with Haylie's stroller for a few days as well! Why he LOVES this stroller so much, I don't know. I would be looking for Boston and calling his name when I'd notice his legs hanging from the stroller. He'd just be relaxing in her stroller! Crazy boy!

He'd just be chill-axin...

Then he'd pretend to go to sleep...

Then he'd peek out the back and say, "HI MOMMA!"
(he thought this was the funniest part!)

And then he'd just push the stroller from his room, to the family room, to the kitchen!

Hey, it kept him busy! Who knew a stroller could be so fun!
