OH THE THINGS THEY DO!

Today I put this picture of Christ in Boston's room:

When we went to put Boston to bed tonight, he noticed it and exclaimed, "JESUS!" Then he proceeded to ask us if it was okay if he slept with Jesus tonight. OF COURSE! He then grabs the picture and looks down at it in his hands and says, "I love Jesus!"

MEETING SANTA

Boy, did I talk up Santa this year! Boston was ABSOLUTELY and COMPLETELY excited to meet Santa. He flips out ANYTIME he sees a man with a long white bear and starts screaming "SANTA! SANTA!" So today I finally convinced Kent that yes, it is a father's duty to go with us to visit Santa. Boston was VEEERRRRY ecstatic about this and the moment he saw Santa he just stopped. I thought at first he was nervous but then I realized he was seriously just in awe! I walked him over to Santa and placed him on his lap and there was a nervous little grin on his face that was like he was screaming inside, "I'M SITTING ON SANTA'S LAP!!!!" I WAS a little disappointed that Santa didn't ask Boston what he wanted for Christmas which I prepped Boston for over a hundred times (by the way, his response is "Toys!" then when you ask what kind of toys he says "MICKEY MOUSE TOYS!"). But Boston did tell us many times later that night that Santa told him "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!" He LOVED IT!

He then proceeded to carry THIS picture around with him all night! He was soooo proud....and maybe I was just a little bit too!!

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

HOLIDAY MOVIE OF CHOICE:

Yes, this is asked for almost daily by the little man. The question is, will I give in and let him watch AFTER the holidays are over...?

And we actually got to START the tradition this year. We started it December 1st and I must be honest, I've been HORRIBLE at keeping up with it! BUT it has been fun when I DO remember...or Boston reminds me to find our elf who we've named "PICCOMOLO"

This is only ONE of our MANY traditions each Christmas but it is our NEWEST and I LOVE this idea!

**Yes, I realize my son is in skeleton pj's in December but this must have been on a day when all his others were dirty and NO these STILL haven't been retired to their box yet!
***If you remember in a previous post about our Christmas tree, Kent didn't want me to get a tree skirt...but if you look closely in the first picture...you'll realize who WON that battle!

I THINK I SPOKE TO SOON.....

Ever say things and then realize maybe you opened your mouth too early??? Well, I'm dealing with this RIGHT NOW!

• About 1 month ago, I was talking and saying how Boston has been GREAT in Sacrament meeting on Sundays. That was all true until the VERY NEXT SUNDAY after I said that! He was a TERROR! He whined, screamed, and kept asking to leave!!! We have never wanted Boston to think its "fun" to leave during Sacrament so we take him out into a classroom, put him on a chair and make him sit until he's ready to go back in. Sounds pretty boring for a kid right?!? WRONG!!! Not for Boston! HE LOVES THIS and even ASKS every Sunday to go sit in timeout on the chair! He will LITERALLY sit there the WHOLE time without trying to get off! What the problem is, I have NO idea! Eating snacks, singing along with the music, reading books, drawing, or playing with a truck sounds MUCH more exciting to me!!! I'm DOOMED! I'm praying its a phase that he comes out of QUICKLY but with this little boy, you NEVER know!


• 3 weeks ago, I was getting my hair done and Nicole (my hairdresser) asked if Boston had hit the "terrible twos" to which I responded "NO...THANKFULLY, I'm hoping we've gotten lucky and avoided that stage!" Then it hit....what I believe to be the terrible TWOS literally the NEXT week! I mean it has been AWFUL! It seems as though Boston has spent more time in time out the past 2 1/2 weeks than he has in his whole 2 1/2 years of life! Oh the DRAMA!

LESSON LEARNED: IF SOMETHING IS GOING WELL, DO NOT ADMIT IT IN WORDS BECAUSE THE MOMENT YOU DO, YOU WILL BE EATING THOSE WORDS!

AND THEN THERE WERE 3!

Boston now has another little friend that he obviously loves SOOO much! Little Buddy is loved just as much as B! (Buddy is on the right and B is on the left)

"I'M A BIG BOY!"

So I took Boston in for his 2 yr well checkup today (yes, I know he turned 2 back in May but since Kent is already weird about immunizations, he wanted me to wait and not do back to back appointments since I took him at 22 months for his 18 months.....). Surprisingly we didn't have to get ANY shots! Boston did have to have a finger prick since he's a new patient but he didn't even flinch and just stared at the blood coming out of his finger saying how cool it was (future doctor on my hands? Maybe.)! We did get the flu vaccine but were lucky to get it in the mist! I was SOOOO glad to have ZERO shots!!!

Here are his stats:

WEIGHT: 35 lbs 90% (I keep thinking he'll slim down the older he gets but it ain't happenin people!)

HEIGHT: 37 inches 85% (Kent's glad he's finally ABOVE average in height. Maybe this is why all his 2T pants have become high waters ALREADY!)

He also did a vision test and his vision was GREAT! Thankfully, we got a healthy boy on our hands...okay minus the keratosis pilaris that he has on his legs and arms (a skin issue that is apparently hereditary and can't be treated 100%) so BOO for that!

My doctor also encouraged me to get to potty training after the holidays since he is showing all the signs of being ready. I've kind of been doing this on and off lately but haven't been 100% dedicated but WILL do it right after the holidays. I'm not wanting to start potty training this boy during the BUSIEST time of the year...THAT'D BE A JOKE! So it'll have to wait a little bit longer. Anyone have any good advice???? It kind of freaks me out to potty train. Not because of the hassle potty training is but because it means my little man is getting BIGGER and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this age and want him to be this way FOREVER! What can you do??

Well, that was our visit! Boston really enjoyed the doctor and kept talking about how much FUN the doctor visit was and was smiling during the ENTIRE exam! That was DEFINATELY a first!
