GEORGE IN LA?!?! WHAT?!?

Like I said in my previous post, mom and I ran into George Bush in Louisiana while I was in town. We were headed out to shop and about 2 min up the road from my parents house we see all kinds of cop cars and security cars outside the house where they filled the movie "The Toy." Mom of course being the smart one remembered Pres Bush was in town! We turned on the radio trying to figure out when he'd be up from New Orleans to Baton Rouge for this fundraiser at "The Toy" house. Well after we were done shopping we had impeccable timing because the interstate was closed down waiting his arrival. We took the back roads and made it JUST in time to see him pass. As we pull up, we see war protesters on the corner awaiting his arrival (don't worry I gave them a piece of my mind...) and so we decided to join the wiser Americans on the other side proudly holding flags and signs that said "Kick the Terrorist's A**" and "I'm proud to be an American." It's crazy how much security the President has. I mean cops were there scoping out the area hours before he came. Then I counted about 33 cops on motorcycles after he passed and I believe his motorcade had about 23 to a BAZILLION in it! There were helicopters flying overhead and everything! I was hoping Bush would wave at his supporters but no such luck!!! It was quick but exciting and I'm glad I was able to show him our support! It's not everyday Louisiana gets celebs passing through you know...
The annoying protesters who REALLY made me upset!!
Security SUV that pulled up behind us
The BAZILLION of motorcycles cops that where there
Mimi and Boston waiting so anxiously for him to come!!
This was outside one of the driveways. It looked like bomb squad security.

Here is Bush passing. The first few seconds are of the protesters that I "booed" and told to go home but I didn't realize I was filming so you didn't hear all of it. By the way, count how many times my mom says "Bob Jindal." Do you THINK she likes him as govenor or what?!

SWEET SOUTHERN COMFORT
We just got back Saturday evening from our visit to Louisiana! We were supposed to come home Thursday but we weren't finished redecorating the rooms I'd set out to help mom redecorate so we extended our stay! We were busy, busy running around shopping, painting, and visiting family and friends! I LOVE staying busy and always on the go because it makes the days go by and it makes me just feel like I'm accomplishing things! Anyway, here's a brief summary of our vacation down south!
Boston cruising around Mimi & Papa's house. Since my parents have hardwood floors Boston had to learn how to fall gracefully while walking around instead of flat on his hands like he normally does at home! After a day or so, he had it down AND I think it made him learn to walk better because the wood floors are rough on the little man's knees!
We also got to visit with Grandma and Aunt Hillary and Melia! It was SOO cute to see Boston and Melia interact! She's gotten SOO big since Christmas and LOVES babies so she was so sweet to Boston! She got on the floor when he would crawl and decided she wanted to be a baby like Boston! So they cruised around together! It was TOO cute! Can't wait to see ya'll when you come to visit next week!
We got to meet Papa for lunch and dinner a few times since he was very busy with work and church while we were there! Papa is trying to make sure Boston has Bluth blood in him and got him to try his first taste of salsa which of course HE LOVED!
Boston's face POST salsa tasting!
Snapshot Dad took of Boston that I loved and had to post...
Boston also learned how to climb stairs while there. He's never been around stairs since he's been mobile but he knew exactly what to do when he saw them...no fear there!
You can't leave Louisiana during crawfish season without eating crawfish (sidenote: for all you non-southern's out there it IS CRAWFISH not crayfish, crawdaddies, mud bugs or whatever you call it...it's CRAWFISH!!)!!! YUM! It was DELICIOUS and I'm SOO happy I made it down during this time of year! OH, and I was also SOO happy to eat a crawfish poboy when I went to lunch at Sammy's (GREAT southern food) with my best friends from high school Tina and Bethany! You can't beat the food in the south!
Boston was SOO mesmerized by the crawfish! He had NO fear and just picked them up, played with them and tried to figure out what in the world it was! I couldn't even get him to look up and smile for the camera! As my dad says, he had his "Winston Churchill" face on!
The MAIN reason for my trip down to LA was to help mom redecorate one of the guest rooms and the game room! We didn't get everything that I WANTED to get done but I'm proud my mom was able to make the choices she did as quick as she did! I LOVE how the bedroom turned out! The green is VERY bright but it looks SOO good with all the stuff in there and everything back in place! If you look in Pottery Barn, its very in right now. We matched the bedding from PB with the paint that they have in the magazine now and this is how it turned out! Sorry I didn't get a completed picture but it looks GREAT! We also repainted the bathroom, or I should say painted over the wallpaper (did you know that you could do that?!?). It turned out GREAT and I didn't get a finished picture of it either! But with the red towels and the striped towels that match the bedding it looks SOOO good! I'll have to take a completed picture of it when we go back for the 4th! Lastly we bought some new furniture for the game room and that's about all we got done in there! Hopefully we get it finished in July or maybe MOM will complete it and surprise me when I come! HA!
We also ran into George when we there too (PRESIDENT George Bush that is....). I'm going to do a separate post on that one though because I have videos that I don't feel like doing right now but I'll post more about that soon!!
Our trip was FABULOUS and FUN! I was sooo glad to see everyone I did and help spend Daddy's money like the olden days! =) See ya'll again soon!
CHUBBY FEET!!!
It has been quite the dilemma trying to find shoes for Boston. Trust me this has been SOOO stressful! Boston's feet are VERY chubby and VERY wide! I've never bought him shoes in the past because nothing fit right, he'd kick them off, and my doc discouraged it. Now Boston is walking and now I officially HAVE to buy him shoes! I've been looking now for 3 or 4 weeks and no such luck! I finally broke down and bought these crocs which his feet STILL bulge out of but I ended up taking them back because I felt guilty paying that much for shoes! But now I'm beginning to realize that I'm going to have to pay between $40-$60 for shoes he'll grow out of in week (ok hopefully a little bit longer than that!). I've looked a few places people have told me about and no luck but I'm off to my last hopefully place today, "Stride Rite" (I looked at the outlet in Louisiana but they had nothing that fit). Oh and I will say I'm going to get some "PediPeds" which from what people say are FANTASTIC shoes for babies because they are so flexible and good for babies who are learning how to walk. With those shoes though, I can't just order them because he needs to try them on to make sure his fat feet fit in them! So sad my son can't where all the cute shoes they have out there.....If any of you have any good suggestions, I'd LOVE to hear them!

GOOOO MAVS!!!

So I KNOW I'm WAY behind on posting lately! But for the first time in a LONG time, I've been running around like CRAZY...and at the same time actually enjoying it! For the past week and a half in Louisiana and in 2 days I'm headed to Kansas City to meet my newest nephew--CHARLIE!!!!! More about all this later....

I need to catch up on everything and a few weeks ago Kent and I got tickets to the Mavs vs. Jazz game! We were sooo excited because #1 We LOVE watching Mavs play (and plus Kent REALLY wanted to see them play the Jazz because he like every other Mormon out there LOVES the Jazz) and #2 we haven't had much time to ourselves doing something fun and different like this in a LONG time! Leslie was so sweet to watch Boston for us and off we went to enjoy a GREAT game! It wasn't too exciting til the last few seconds when Dirk hit the winning 3 pt shot---GOOOO MAVS!!!!!! (Sorry all you Jazz fans out there...) We did have a fun night (well I had a blast but unfortunately Kent had some work drama that inturrupted his enjoyment of the game). Here are a few pics!
Yes I KNOW I look SICKLY pale, I don't think I've been this WHITE in a LONG time but don't your worry it's now summer and once I find the right swimsuit to COMPLIMENT my sad looking post pregnancy body, I'll be right out there getting my tan on again!

NEW TRICK!
I don't know if it's a boy thing or just my own son, but instead of learning consonant sounds he prefers to learn noises! So I have been working at trying to teach him what animals say. The other night in the tub he was playing with one of his little fish and I kept moving my mouth like a fish does and just like that he picked up on it! Now I just say, "What does a fish say?" and he does it!
P.S. Sorry about Boston attacking the camera, that's what he does every time he hears it turn on. He gets SOO excited and has to go and take a look at himself! Vain? Maybe...

FINGER FOODS!

We have now almost officially put aside all baby foods and are now doing almost nothing but FINGER FOODS! Thanks for everyones advice on what to feed Boston. It has really helped calm my worries about what is okay and what's not! Here are a few pictures of Boston having Mac n Cheese from earlier this week. I also posted a video of Boston eating REAL green beans (okay not that the baby food ones weren't real but you get my point) and yeah I don't think he liked it too much...

OH HAPPY DAY!!!!

So I just did the unthinkable! I finally got the courage to try to squeeze into my old jeans from BEFORE pregnancy. I have done this maybe 2 other times since having Boston and became suddenly sadden and depressed. But today I am proud to say that I can officially WEAR MY OLD JEANS!!!! That means pull them up past my thighs, button them without killing my stomach and zipping the zipper to the top! I think only my husband knows the TRUE struggle I have had with this whole weight gaining/weight losing issue I have had with this pregnancy but it really has been a HUGE thing on my self esteem and after all this hard work my goal has pretty much FINALLY been reached! I also stepped on the scale and I officially weigh LESS than what I did at my first weigh in from my first pregnancy appointment. Now this could just be a result from throwing my guts up from food poisoning on Tuesday but I'm hoping that maybe I can at least keep myself at this weight! Well, enough of my self boasting for the day. I'm just really exciting and proud that I finally reached this point. I still have MUCH work to do, TRUST ME, it's not over yet. I have until May 1st to get there!!
