First Visit to the Dentist

Boston had his first official visit to see Dr. Pittman. Thanks to my friend Ashley for the great referral! Boston was a tad nervous that he would have to get a shot in his mouth but thankfully, he got a great report card(and even got a certificate with a picture of him with Dr. Pittman)! Can I just say that he loved every minute of it!!! He now ASKS to go back to the dentist! This place was fabulous! They were so sweet and Boston got to pick out a new you twice and get a new toothbrush AND stickers! He was in heaven!  Here he is brushing the horse's teeth and checking out his mouth with a flashlight while we waiting for Dr. Pittman.

After his teeth were checked with ZERO signs of cavities (and a nice compliment to mom and dad for giving Boston "good genes" for "great looking teeth") it was time to clean.  He got to pick his own flavors and wear sunglasses.  He seriously thought he was SOOO cool. 

Sorry my picture is blurry but this is Boston showing off his WHITE teeth.  He asks me daily if his teeth are still white from his cleaning.  He is also very much on top of wanting his teeth brushed and tells me that I'm supposed to help him AFTER he brushes FIRST just like the dentist said.  Thank you Boston!

After waiting 30 minutes, we met up with Kent for lunch at Potbellies!  We LOVE us some Potbellies.  I took the boys to the park after that since he did such a good job and let them play for a bit.

Boston seriously can NOT wait to go BACK to the dentist.  I'm sure he will enjoy it until he gets a cavity which hopefully won't happen anytime soon (I've never had one lucky me)!

Easter

For Easter, we headed over to Baton Rouge for the weekend.  I feel like we haven't been home for a long time and it was nice to get back.  We drove in LATE Thursday night (then stayed up until 2 or 3 visiting).  Friday, Kent went to lunch with his mom while I got my hair done (yes, I still go to Louisiana to get my hair highlighted) and went to lunch with my parents.  Later that evening we went to Carol's ward Easter egg hunt.  Kent has all the pictures on his phone and I keep forgetting to get them off but Boston LOVED playing around with all his cousins and finding eggs.  It was PERFECT weather and it was fun to visit and just sit in the grass.  On Saturday, we finally got to dye Easter eggs! 

 Boston is in this phase that drives me absolutely CRAZY!!  He gets in these ULTRA silly moods and you can't get him to snap out of it.  Trust me when I say I think I've tried almost everything to get him to stop.  It is seriously annoying and I'm hoping this phase ends really SOON!  Here he is, showing a little bit of that silly side.

 Mimi helped Hudson dye some eggs.  He LOVED it.  Every time they would pull an egg out from the color, he'd giggle and smile. 

 Then Hudson got his hands on one of the mugs...and out went the green.

 Again, Boston being silly....AND getting dye all over his hands.

 Kent was gone most of the day with my dad trying to get parts or fix something, I don't even know what, and also helped him get the pool cover off and shock the pool.  After their busy "man" day, we decided to get some boiled crawfish!  It was a another GORGEOUS night outside.

 I told Boston I'd give him a buck if he tried crawfish and to my surprise, he agreed!  He did it and LOVED it!  He even asked to have it for breakfast the next day!

 The Easter bunny managed to find us in Louisiana!  Boston was a little stinker and snuck downstairs BEFORE everyone and peeked through his basket.  This momma was NOT happy about that but Papa told him to show just as much excitement on round two as he did round one to make me happy.  What do you do.  Sneaky boy!!!!

Hudson was tired and we had to wake him up early so he could peek in his basket before church.  We was a little out of it but flashed a smile regardless.

 He LOVED his ball.  They are his favorite (although this ball was all chewed up in a matter of days thanks to Hudson and is now long gone in the trash).

 Then it was off to church to hear the beautiful Easter messages.  We tried to focus alot with Boston on just WHY we celebrate Easter.  I really want him to understand that and have a testimony of it so that he isn't just thinking about the Easter Bunny on Easter. 

 I LOVE these boys.  They seriously mean the world to me.

 We did a little Easter egg hunt before dinner while Hudson napped.  Boston found quite the collection.

 INCLUDING the golden egg!!!  This was something new I added in this year and Boston was excited about it!

 He couldn't believe that FIVE dollars were inside!  Five dollars seems like a million bucks to a four year old boy!

 After dinner we packed everything up and headed out.  Trust me when I say we were EXHAUSTED!!!!!!  I NEVER sleep in the car when Kent drives because it freaks me out but I was so tired that I couldn't force my eyes open anymore.  Hudson was miserable and screamed lots of the way home but finally zonked about an hour before we got home.  We had some late nights and THANKFULLY we made it home safe and sound!!!

Soccer Season

Our third season of soccer ended back in March.  This was definitely a rainy season and we had a few games rained out and rescheduled.  He also got to play with his friends Kyler and Brett again this season which always makes it fun playing with friends.  It's been so fun watching Boston's soccer skills get better and better each time he plays.  Kent was trying to get Boston to be a little more aggressive this last season and he would tell him that he can't push but he can nudge people a little bit to get the ball and get away.  After one game Boston came up so proud and told Kent, "Dad, did  you see me push that boy?  I just did it a little bit but not too hard!" Oh gosh, what have we created? 

 Boston scored any where from 1-3 goals I think every game.  He was so proud and always LOVES the candy bar reward post game.  He HAS informed us though that although he loves playing soccer, in the fall he is playing FOOTBALL instead....and then basketball....and THEN soccer.  Glad my boy loves sports!

15 Months

On March 30, Hudson hit the 15 month mark!  I took him to the doc a few weeks back and here are his stats:

Weight: 24.42 lbs 68%

Height: 31.5 in 56%

Head: 18.75 71%

Boston at 15 months was:

WEIGHT: 27 lbs 70%

HEIGHT: 31 1/2 inches 48%

Hudson has only gained a pound in the last few months and with all his eating I was shocked by this.  This boy can throw down some food.  He's shot up in his height and finally hit in the average range.  Dr. Rahman was proud of this and was excited for me to inform Kent (yes, Kent is paranoid to have SHORT boys).  He also got two shots and surprisingly did NOT cry.  He whined for one second and that was it! 

 Hudson is a crack up.  This kid is trouble but hilarious all at the same time.  I love that he is getting older and Boston and him play a little bit together.  One of his favorite things right now is brushing his teeth.  He comes running to the bathroom and just stands with his mouth wide open for me to brush.  After a minute he yanks away the tooth brush so he can do it himself. 

 Hudson LOVES to run the cars across the floor.  He makes a little grunting noise which is his way of saying "vroom, vroom."  He also loves to have a ball to play with and throw then chase after.

 This kid loves, loves, LOVES his blanket.  Boston was never attached to his, so this is all somewhat new to us.  I love it (although I'm sure I'll regret it later).  Every morning when I get him from his crib, he points to his blanket and will scream if I leave the room without it.  He has also become more obsessed with his binky as of lately.  The funny thing is that he doesn't want it when he's MAD.  Just when he's calm.  When he's mad, he wants you to KNOW it and THROWS it across the room. 

 We've also upgraded sippy cups to the bigger boy kind.  No more little Nuby.  He LOVES this and actually drinks TONS more since the change. 

 Hudson was SUPER fussy for a few days with an on again off again temperature.  I thought it was from his molars coming in but after a few days I couldn't handle it any more and took him to the doctor.  Thank goodness I did because he had a DOUBLE ear infection and the left ear had actually popped.  One night after fussing for about 30 minutes straight, this little guy passed out on my chest.  Poor thing.  Glad that's all over.

Hudson is starting to pick up on a few words.  He can of course say momma, bubba and dadda (kent is his favorite hands down. I'm a little jealous).  He also can say dog (and runs to Stella and taps/slaps her back), nana for banana, nack for snack, and whenever I tell him "no, no" he runs over to me and shakes his finger and head and says "na na na!" This kid also LOVES to dance and get down any time music is on.  It's hilarious.  Within the last week or so, he has become more attached to Kent and me.  He used to go to anyone and now he's hesitant but if he's roaming free, he'll run up to anyone.  He continues to entertain us and get funnier every day.  You definitely need ear plugs at times and I feel like I need to watch him like a hawk but I love him anyway. 

St. Patty's Day Rodeo

We had been so busy that I didn't realize that the Houston Livestock and Rodeo was almost over!  We made it just in time but had to go on the last Saturday which was St. Patrick's Day.  I was nervous that it was going to be terribly busy but we decided to get there RIGHT at 10 am and hope that we could get alot done before it got too crowded.  WE WERE RIGHT!  There was hardly anyone there, we got on all the rides with NO lines and the weather was perfect!  The kids (and Kent and I) always have a blast when we go every year. 

 These little maze houses are Boston's favorite and he went through them probably 2 or 3 times that day.

 Sadly, Hudson couldn't do anything but people watch.  Although that did keep him entertained.  Next year buddy.

 Apparently, this year a little kid feel off this ferris wheel!  These things scare me half to death especially when Kent starts moving it and pulling tricks like this...

 Boston really wanted to play some of the games this year.  Sadly, he didn't win his first game.

 So we found a booth where "EVERYONE'S A WINNER" so we could get our money's worth.

 Boston scored a light saber (it actually just got thrown out in the trash this last week...shh don't tell he still hasn't noticed).

 While we were eating lunch, we sat down to listen to a band playing and then they started to tell a story about cowboys and Indians.  They asked for audience participation so we sent Boston up.

 He ran around like an Indian on a horse chasing the cowboy.

 We went over to the Kid's Country where you learn how we get all our food from the farmers.

 We let Hudson get out and walk around.  This stressed Kent OUT because Hudson was not really cooperating with the flow of traffic.

 The kid's played in the corn pit for a bit until Boston got annoyed with all the corn getting in his shoes.

 Future farmer???  I don't think he's convinced.

 The last thing we did was watch the Mutton Bustin.  You have to be 5&6 to try so Boston barely missed the cut off.  He said he'll do it next year.  We better start training!

 We finished doing everything we wanted by 1 and got out just in time to miss all the crowds.  It was perfect and we'll definitely do it like that again.  Sadly, Kent and I missed out on our date night to one of the concerts/rodeo.  We just couldn't get it together.  We'll plan better next year.  The rest of the day was a relaxing Saturday.  We got home just in time for Hudson to take a nap, wash the cars then finish with our annual GREEN dinner in honor of St. Patty's day. 

And yes, we did have more then just green cupcakes for dinner.  Green chicken fettuccine, green bread, green salad and a lime ice cream drink is our annual lineup!
