BOSTON GOES SWIMMING!!!

Technically NO Boston can not swim...but he did have his VERY FIRST pool experience today! Kent wanted to take him this morning before he headed up to the office so this meant for a very early and cold pool experience.

Boston's first reaction of the pool water wasn't so fantastic. It WAS COLD and I don't think he liked that very much. But once Kent got him moving around I think he started to relax and enjoy it, not TOO much to crack a smile but you could tell he was just taking it all in! We didn't stay long enough to get an ounce of much needed sun but it was fun going and hanging out as a fam! This is where Boston and I are probably going to be almost daily this summer so he better get used to that water..
.
Okay so he DID crack a FEW smiles! We put him in the hot tub after the pool and he LOVED that and was splashing a TON! I guess the pool water is still a little cold for his liking.
Don't make fun of his floaty because it's PURPLE polka dot! We didn't notice that until AFTER we took it out of the packaging and we blew it up. The green makes it look boyish enough.....right...?!?
I was trying to get a shot of Boston's cool swim trunks but Boston was distracted by other things and wouldn't pose for his runway shot...oh well.
If you're wondering if I BRAVED taking off my cover up and hopping into the pool the answer is...NO! Not ready for that yet but I have ordered a new swimsuit that will hopefully compliment this post baby figure...atleast HOPEFULLY a tad!
I'M BACK!!!!

Okay, so technically I haven't been anywhere the past few weeks but I've been SOO bad about getting on and blogging! I can say that I have been actively occupied with some things which I don't completely mind but that means NO BLOGGING! So I told myself that tonight while Kent was off playing basketball and before all my family starts coming in town tomorrow I would get on and catch up, which isn't TONS to catch up but a few things.....so here goes!

Mother's day weekend, Carol, Hillary and Melia came in town. We were so excited to have them come see us in Dallas! It's the first time Hillary and Melia have been here so we were excited to show them the BIG D! Unfortunately because of Kent's busy work schedule he didn't get to see much of his mom and sister but he was able to treat us all well on Mother's day despite his hectic schedule (yeah, he's a great husband what can I say).

Some of the fun things we did included shopping Ikea (there's not one of those in LA), letting the kids play at "Going Bonkers", and going to the Ranger's game! Like I said earlier, Kent also spoiled us all on Mother's Day with a fab breakfast and gifts for all (and YES wrapped...this is a big deal in our house because Kent isn't much into gift wrapping). Here are a few photos from their visit!

Melia LOVED going down this slide.
Boston doesn't look like he enjoyed it in this picture, but I promise he did!
Okay and maybe I even enjoyed it a little!

Saturday was the Rangers game that evening and we stopped at Chic-fil-a before heading to the ball park.

A little bit of the action...Rangers vs. Oakland A's--Rangers won 6-4! This was my first pro baseball game and I was REALLY excited to be there! Of course I had to get a ball park hot dog everyone talks about and YES it was DELICIOUS!!! Also FYI, I guess they have this HUGE area in the park for kids to go play all these pitching games, batting games, etc! It looked like SOO much fun and I can't WAIT to take Boston back when he's older!

Cute little Melia---we became good friends during this visit. Hopefully she won't forget me and she'll want to play with me next time I see her too!

Hillary and Melia

Grandma and Boston--this is my ONLY picture of them together. I need to be better about taking their picture together..

Melia coming to hang out with me...I think I'm her favorite...sorry Leslie!

Boston loving him some food on Aunt Hillary's lap! By the way this was like my only picture with Sidney in it! So she WAS there I just don't have a good picture to prove it!

SISTERS!

Kent showing Boston how the game is played!

It was fun having them here and we can't wait to see y'all again in JULY!

WEANING!

So, Boston is about a week away from turning one and I've told myself that by 1 year Boston will NO LONGER be taking a bottle. I'm a little stressed over this because my son LOVES his bottle and I'm just also nervous that he's not getting full off just solid foods. I know that with him drinking milk that should help but it's not 6-8 oz. per meal like he would have with a bottle. Plus he's still NOT a pro by any means at drinking a sippy cup. He would still MUCH rather a bottle and jsut kinda sips a little then throws it on the floor. Is that normal at nearly a year of age? I've been giving it to him for nearly every meal since 6 months! Any advice on how to wean him? I really need ANYONE'S advice....

MEETING LITTLE CHARLIE!

We got back LATE Monday evening from a weekend of meeting handsome CHARLIE JOSEPH WITHERS! Chad and Kristin blessed him this past Sunday and the WHOLE family (minus Kent) was able to be there for it! I felt like we were like the enegizer bunny while we were there, we kept going and going and going! There was SOO much to do in such little time but we did it and had a blast too! I'm warning you that this is a blog of pictures but I realized that I took 101 pictures while I was there! Don't worry, I'm not posting ALL of them!

FRIDAY:

These are some pictures at Adam-Ondi-Ommon. The wind was blowing SOO hard that day and it was FREEZING..well freezing for someone who lives in warm Dallas!
We visited Far West

Of COURSE we had to eat at Oklahoma Joes while we were there! I'm not a BBQ fan but this place is to DIE for! Everytime I go to Kansas City, I HAVE to eat here! SOOO GOOD!

Rylee and Sophie being silly. Sophie's hair is a little wind blown from the day...

Boston and Charlie becoming BEST buds!

Proud dad with sweet little Charlie!

Papa bonding with his SECOND grandson!

SATURDAY:

On the way to watch Rylee play in her soccer game!
Boston intently watching and learning..

Rylee following in her Auntie's footsteps!

We visited Independence
How cute is this little guy?!?
Gotta love that guy!!!!!
SUNDAY:
Charlie's Blessing Day! Are these kids the cutest?!?

Boston wearing his first suit! Thanks Chad and Kristin for the handsome surprise for the little guy! Surprisingly, I think Boston ENJOYED wearing the hat! He never tried to take it off!

SISTERS/BFF!

Papa and Boston taking a walk...

Gotta LOVE that face!
MONDAY:

We went to this cute little petting zoo! I was VERY impressed especially since it's FREE (making it THAT much better!). They had all kinds of things for the kids to do. I wish Dallas had this same thing!

Chad being one of the kids....like always!

Rylee LOVES horses and was in HEAVEN when she got to go on this pony ride!

Sophie LOVES following in her sister's footsteps and also LOVED the pony ride!

We saw this sign by the fishing dock (YES you can fish there too) and just had to snap a photo for my GRANDPA-this one is for you!

Rylee competing and racing all the other kids around the tracker race track.

You could even feed baby goats a bottle of milk!

These goats were going CRAZY over the milk...some were SUCH bullies to the smaller little goats!

All of the sudden they started jumping up on me like DOGS!!!! These goats were crazy!!!

Then before we left for the airplane, we went to Sophie's soccer game! She's going to be quite the little athlete one day! Watching little kids play sports is SOO funny and SOO entertaining! I can't WAIT for those days with my own kids!
Okay, sorry this was SOOO long! Trust me, I'm happy this is over too...this took FOREVER to post!!
FORWARD FACING!

After we got back from our Louisiana vacation, I finally decided that when Kent put the carseat back in the car he would put it facing forward! I know that TECHNICALLY you're not supposed to turn them around until a year but let me just say he is SOOO much happier and it's totally worth it! I'm sure all of you other mom's who have done this say the SAME thing! I also LOVE being able to turn around and see his little smiling face! LOVE IT!
