12 WEEKS AND COUNTING....

Last pregnancy I refused to keep pictures of my growing belly (which I kind of regret now) so I told myself with my NEXT pregnancy, I'd do it. So it begins....I'm 12 weeks and totally have a belly...that's approximately 8 weeks earlier than Boston. Let's hope this isn't a sign of me getting even LARGER with this pregnancy (I don't know how you get any bigger than I was with Boston).

I'm still sick but haven't thrown up ONCE (if that includes the throw up I forced myself to swallow yesterday) but I'm still as nauseous and tired as ever. I never remember having any heartburn with Boston but this baby is KILLING me with it. I can't pin point what gives it to me...it's the most RANDOM things! Let's pray these next few weeks fly by!

**I wouldn't be honest if I said I have makeup on daily...in fact I think that's the first time in over week I've had any on. The only reason is because I went to church today and forced myself to look semi decent**

MEMORIAL DAY!!!

Kent had the fun idea to head down to Galveston and camp on the beach on Memorial Day since the guys were only working half a day. Boston of course was THRILLED to head to the beach and it was fun to just hang out and relax with family and friends!

We didn't actually camp "on the beach"....more like right behind the beach. It probably worked out better that way so we didn't have even MORE sand in everything. We roasted hots dogs for dinner and just hung out around the camp fire before we about died of a heat stroke that night in the tents!

The next morning we headed back down to the beach one more time before we had to head back to Houston.

Kent and Paul started "wrestling" in the water and Boston freaked out a little bit....

He kept crying "Daddy!!" over and over as he slowly tried to make his way out to him.

Then daddy came to the rescue....LOVE this picture!

The time was short and sweet and just what we needed....although I could do without the mosquitos and the sweat when I slept.

NEW HAIRCUT!

Being sick and pregnant lately may have caused me to become temporarily insane for a little bit when I did this BUT hair grows back right? The main reason I convinced myself to do this was because when (if) we get out of the house with me being sick these days, doing Boston's hair is the LAST thing I want to do. I'm a little OCD about having all his hair looking a certain way when we go out.....so here's the BEFORE:

Thankfully Boston LOVES it and constantly looked at himself in the mirror AND even kept asking me to take funny pictures of him.

This kid seriously is a crack up lately! I need to give him props for being so sweet to me while I lay in bed or on the couch most of the day. He has been playing so well by himself & if I ask him to go get something he automatically just does it (MIRACLE because that did NOT happen before). He truly has been a blessing. Maybe its because he really is THAT thrilled to have a new baby in the family? He's always making comments about it but this one was one of my favs:

"Mommy, I three now so I have the baby in my belly and you have the baby in your belly. My baby's a girl, you have a boy!"

Then last night in his prayer he asked Heavenly Father to help him be a good big brother (NO prompting from me either) which I found even more odd because his prayers are usually pretty close to the same thing every night and on VERY few occasions he'll randomly throw something new in there (I think last time he asked Heavenly Father to bless my bo-bo's when I had shingles).

Now we'll see how he REALLY feels when the baby actually arrives!

OIL RANCH!

I feel like I have alot to catch up on so while I'm just laying around the house the next few weeks, hopefully I'll be able to get caught up....

While Kristin was here I feel like we had a JAM PACKED week and we were always going, going, going but have VERY little pictures to prove it! Oh well...between shopping, playing, and eating, I guess we were having too much fun to stop for pictures! The one day I actually DID capture on camera was the day we battled the bloody HOT heat to Oil Ranch. I've been before and was excited to take Kristin back.

We first went over to milk the cow...neither of the boys cared to do it and wanted to keep a GOOD distance away!

This is as close as we got with Boston freaking out the whole time!

Boston spotted this slide from a mile away & I don't blame him. We attempted this next and the boys were soaked the rest of the day! Hey, it was a good way to stay cool!

The boys were a little nervous at first because the water was spraying on their heads at the top so I had to get up there and give them a little budge. Boston went like this first and SLAMMED into the wall head first.

Since Charlie is a smart boy, he decided going on his belly was a safer bet (and it was)!

So Boston followed his lead and did the same!

Then they tried out the slip-n-slides! They didn't quite understand that you're supposed to race down on your belly so instead they made up their own fun of running and falling (or slipping) and thought it was just as hilarious!

They probably could haveplayed there the rest of the day but we wanted to move on and experience the rest of the ranch!

We went and visited the pigs and baby pigs!

We saw the goats from a distance...Kristin thought it was too gross to take the kids inside to pet them (CITY GIRL!).

The boys got a chance to ride the horses.....

The boys weren't soaked from sweat...that's water from the slip-n-slide.

We also got to take a train ride in by all the horses and cows/longhorns!

We also got a chance to go on a hayride to get up close and personal and feed the horses!

Sometimes the horses got a little too close for comfort for Boston & Chuckles

The day was HOT but FUN! The boys passed out within SECONDS of getting back in the car so Kristin & I decided to let them sleep awhile while we drove to the ghetto (the only snowball stand I knew about at the time) to get us a yummy snowball to top the day off!! Nothing better to eat in the summer time than a SNOWBALL!!!!

WOWZA!!!!!

After 4 months of trying

Then being diagnosed with shingles,

Getting 3 NEGATIVE tests,

Then 3 POSITIVE tests,

1 ultra sound that told me I was NOT as far along as expected

then FINALLY a 2nd ultra sound a few weeks later to find this sweet baby floating around

The ultra sound tech sprung me a quick 3D look at 8 wks 5 days

We can finally say that YES, I am PREGNANT!!!!

10 weeks along and counting

DUE JANUARY 7th (not soon enough)!

Yes, I'm SICK, SICK, SICK

Yes, Boston is THRILLED (demanding it be a little sister)

And YES, Kent and I couldn't be MORE excited & finally feeling ready to add baby #2 to our family!!!

A Little Fun with Kelli and Mimi!

Kristin was staying for the week but mom and Kelli just stayed a day longer after Boston's party. So we decided to head down to Hermann Park for the day to enjoy the long train ride and the paddle boats! The boys were in heaven!!! It was pretty hot when you weren't in the shade but luckily, we were covered by shade most of the time!

After the train ride (its actually pretty long), we hit up the paddle boats. This is how the boys felt about their life jackets at first....

But then they got real excited when we reminded them we were riding the boats!

When we got on the boats, Kristin and I were a little nervous because there are no seat belts to strap the boys in! As you can see, if they wanted to, they could stand right up and walk off the back. We were a little paranoid but the boys surprisingly did great (although Charlie did give us a little scare toward the end of the ride).

Since we thought it would be fun for the boys to ride together, mom and Kelli had their own peaceful ride by themselves!

We got a tad wet because of water in the middle of pond shooting up 40 ft+ in the air but it was worth it since it was SOO hot!

All this topped off with some snowballs made the VERY worth it!

Thanks for the fun day mom!!! We all had a blast!

Boston's BIRTHday+PARTY!

Our little man is officially THREE! We had a fun time celebrating and were extra lucky to have my mom, Kelli, and Kristin+Charlie come in town to help celebrate. Here's a little recap of Boston's special day(s). We celebrated his birthday and then the next day we had his actual party.

Sunday night I made Kent stay up late and put together Boston's train table because I KNEW as soon as he opened the box, he'd want it set up. So in order for him to enjoy it INSTANTLY, we put it together the night before and the next morning threw a sheet over it and let Boston unveil his present from us!

He LOVED it and still does (thankfully)...please excuse the mess in the background, we were in party planning mode & my house was a wreck because of it.

We also let Boston open his presents from his grandparents that morning (notice Boston's pj change that he HAD to do when he opened his new "soccer jammies" from Mimi).

I made muffins for him since its one of his favorites for breakfast and we sang him happy birthday with candles and all!

The day was pretty low key because we had lots to get ready for the party plus Kristin and Charlie flew in that evening. We enjoyed Chick-fil-a for dinner that night (ONE of Boston's favs...he would've requested Chuck-E-Cheese if I hadn't forced Chick-fil-a but I was NOT about to attempt that place...sorry buddy).

The next day was the PARTY! We did a train theme this year (hence the train table present...sticking with the theme people!) for Boston's LOVE of trains. Its his one interest that has remained his favorite over the past 2 yrs of his life. Here's a little bit of the decor. I was a little peeved that day because the wind was HORRIBLE for my decorations. I couldn't set certain things up that I wanted to, balloons were popping right and left, things were flying everywhere....UGH! I was bugged/stressed but I had to get over it!

The sandwiches were shaped like trains but you can't tell that well with the clear wrap over them.

The favors....

The banner that WOULD NOT cooperate! It says "Boston's Train Station."

The party started and the plan was to have all the kids paint their own train and we'd have them put their train boxes on and be one long train....yeah that didn't happen. I think only a few kids cared to paint and the rest were hot and busy playing on the playground. Oh well, I had to let it go...

We ate and then it was time to open presents.

We tried to light the candles on Boston's cupcake but again, the wind was too strong to let us do that. Thankfully, Boston didn't seem to mind too much (surprisingly).

This is the only family picture we got all day....hot, sweaty and none of us paying attention to our picture being taken.

And then I decided that since it was so bloody hot, I'd break the rules of the splash pad and let all the kids in to play in the water! I think that was their favorite part!

No one was prepared with swimsuits because I didn't plan on doing that so they all stripped down. Isabel refused any clothes and just played in her underwear (I don't blame her).

All these ladies got to reunite for a little while. They've all been really close friends for years but no longer live close (Nena--Houston, Mom--Baton Rouge, Kathi--Singapore).

Then the party was over.....
