st patty's

I know I always say it but I love holidays.  Any reason to celebrate and have fun I'm completely down for.  I'm usually pretty on top of holidays (most the time) but when Boston came down on St. Patricks Day completely disappointed that we didn't have our annual "green" breakfast with Lucky Charms, I realized this pregnancy has official taken over.  Will my mind continue to forget things or be too busy to remember little things like this when baby #3 makes his arrival?
We made the most of it after that and wore our green and then ate our traditional yummy GREEN dinner (minus dessert---this chick was exhausted nor had time).
Let's hope I get it together better NEXT year.  Sometimes I wonder why I start certain traditions when it gets too difficult to a) remember them all & b) keep them up.
Here's to remembering our GREEN breakfast NEXT year.
Happy St. Patty's

dakota

On March 11, 2014, little Dakota Jean finally decided to make her entrance into the world (she now shares a birthday with her cousin Charlie).  She was 10 days past due and after 18 hours of labor she was delivered via c-section because she was just too big to get out.
Sweet little girl.
We're so happy for Kelli and Tanor.
And we're SO excited that little Dakota finally broke the 7 year streak of BOYS in our family.
Welcome to the world!

withers visit

Back in March, Kristin and the family came down for a visit during their Spring Break.  I was attacked by the flu earlier in the week (flu+morning sickness=BLOWS) so it put a little damper on the plans sadly.  Thankfully, after a day or so of them being here, I felt a little better to get OUT.
I really didn't want to miss Boston's opening day baseball parade.

 Go WHITE SOX
Then we had crazy chaos for lunch at Freddy's.  I usually LOVE this place when I'm NOT pregnant.  Total bummer that burgers make me want to vomit.  Kristin's good friends the Heaths live just down the road from me so when they come in town, their girls are VERY happy to get together.
On Monday, we checked Boston out of school (it was THEIR spring break not our's) and hit up the Houston Livestock and Rodeo.  We love going every year and I'm pretty sure we are now pro's.  I will say, the more kids we are having the bill is going up more and MORE each year.  These boys might have to tone down on the amount of rides ridden...
We also went back for round TWO of muttin bustin.  Last year, Boston did awesome and loved every second.  They only allow 5 & 6 year olds to ride who aren't over 55 lbs.  Well, they weighed Boston in at 56 lbs and told him no.  His face was so distraught that the lady felt so bad and asked special permission to let him ride.  He was on cloud nine when they said YES!  So Charlie had his first ride and Boston had his second and both did amazing!!!
Charlie not only was the BIRTHDAY boy this day but he also scored FIRST place.  That kid didn't let go...even when his sheep ran into the big herd of sheep.
First and second place!
Both these boys were so proud they wanted to put their t-shirts that they won on right away.

The rodeo was GREAT.
Always a success and never a disappointment.
It was so nice sharing something fun like that with our cousins. Pretty sure everyone had a grand time and no one wanted to leave (minus the parents).
Between rodeo, parks, play, jump houses, restaurants, celebrating Charlie's birthday and more, the time with them went TOO fast.  I may have landed myself back in bed being sick the day they left but that doesn't mean we don't already miss them.
