Pumpkin Picking

Boston has been asking to get pumpkins for a few weeks!  He kept asking me to go get some while he was at school and to surprise him when he got home.  I really enjoy going and picking our pumpkins out together as a family and this year I wanted to do something a little different then our usual local (somewhat disappointing) pumpkin patch.  My friends suggested we hit up Dewberry Farms.  I had heard of it but had never gone and after our experience, we will DEFINITELY be going back.  We had a BLAST!!!  There was SO much to do and SO much I didn't get pictures of us doing.  Swinging into the hay was one of Boston's favorites!

 And of course, Hudson never thinks he's too small to do anything!

 I think the boys could have bounced on these pillows for hours if they weren't distracted by wanting to try everything else there!

 Being the "man" that he is, Kent was very interested in shooting the corn with Boston at the targets.

The boys raced around the tracks and Hudson was determined to steer on his own.  Let's just say the grass became his friend.

What's more fun than a tractor pull?

 Kent and I used to do the corn mazes EVERY year before we had kids in Idaho.  It was one of our favorite things in the fall.  This is the first corn maze we went through as a family.

 And we realized after being in it for a bit, that unless we take a short cut out...we could have been in there for awhile...

 Boston raced down these giant slides over and OVER!  At first he was unsure and wanted Hudson and me to ride with him

 But after his first time down he wanted to go on his own.  Let me tell you, carrying a rug up that hill trying to drag a 21 month old behind you was NOT a simple task.

 The little kids area had plenty to entertain the boys too!

 Hudson's ABSOLUTE favorite part was seeing the farm animals.  He kept yelling and smiling the WHOLE time. 

 We waited until the very end to find our pumpkins so we didn't have to load them around with us all day.  We took the wagon ride out to the "patch"

 Attempted a few pictures (which amidst the boys excitement didn't happen...I'll push for good pumpkin patch pictures before October is up),

 And Hudson found it necessary to SIT on every pumpkin he could.  He has a mild obsession with pumpkins.

 We got our pumpkins and headed back to hit the road home but not BEFORE Boston spotted the horses.  He picked the BIGGEST horse (if you knew Boston you would understand his obsession with being BIG) to ride.

 Then he headed back with our four pumpkins in tow (the metal one was a gift) and 2 exhausted boys (and parents).

 At the end of the day, we had two happy, yet dirty boys that needed a MAJOR scrub down!
