HAVE WE DONE IT?!?!?!
So, yes, Boston is 2 and still sleeps with his pacifier and YES he still uses the SAME soothie they give you in the hospital! Anyway, I have been meaning to rid him of this habit for awhile and I had honestly attempted before and it was QUITE the experience. ANYWAY...
Kent had taken Boston's pacifier from him this morning (we only let him have it when he sleeps). Well, Kent was headed out of town and so he packed and left. It was naptime and I was looking for Boston's pacifier and couldn't find it. So I called and asked where it was. Come to find out, Kent had put in his basketball short's pocket. When I asked where those shorts were he said they were packed with him!!!!!!!! So sure enough, the pacifier was on its way to San Antonio! GREAT! We had bought a pack of pacifiers a few weeks ago when we were at Catherine and Daniel's and had forgotten to bring his binki to lay him down. Well he didn't take them then because they were too hard to suck since they were brand new. TRUST ME this boy KNOWS the difference! This was the only thing I could resort to. So for 45 min I sucked, twisted, and chewed on this binki to try and make it "suckable" for Boston. I went and layed him down and SURE ENOUGH he knew it wasn't THE binki and handed it back to me calling for his "ginky." I tried explaining to him it was gone and inside I'm totally thinking its going to be a ROUGH afternoon. Well, after 20 min of crying he was OUT! He slept a GOOD LONG NAP! Although nap went over OKAY, I was still nervous for BEDTIME! BUT to my surprise there wasn't a SINGLE cry or a SINGLE scream! He's OUT! I honestly CAN NOT believe it!!!! Is this the end of the "ginky?" I'm probably speaking too soon but I'm hoping so! I'm also HOPING that tomorrow goes smooth! CROSS YOUR FINGERS!!!!! If he accomplishes this, I think he deserves a BIG reward!

GO BOSTON!!
L.O.L.! that's a big laugh over here from me! oh my gosh, i think you get the BIG award for sucking on that thing trying to authenticate a TWO YEAR OLD BINKY! hahahahahahaha. i'm totally picturing you frantically annihilating this thing and it's still cracking me up. i love it.
ps. i used to keep isaac's binky's in the bed for sleep time and one day i just forgot to take them in the living room with us after he woke up and he just kinda gradually stopped wanting them. it was great. he had stopped the binky without anyone even noticing. crazy.
ok i just went to fix isaac's banana and after pulling the skin further off i said, "ok here, do you want your binky? i mean your paci? i mean your banana?"
YAY Boss-man!!!... Good Luck Karlee hope he sticks with it!
if you get tired of chewing on it...blake did the same thing as a baby baby, would only take "the one" from the hospital. So we ran them through the microwave sterilizer thing you can put bottles in and it made them soft enough after awhile that he would take them.
JUST IN CASE!! It sounds like he will stick with it though, especially since he didn't cry at all for his nap!
sounds like he will do fine! we took brax's away only 2 months ago!!! check out his story on our blog
haha...i can't believe you were chewing and sucking on it! that is hilarious! the things we do! hey...i say, if its gone its gone! don't go back now! it will only make it harder! the doctor told my sister in law to show her little girl that she was throwing them all away in the garbage can and to have her help throw them away and that was that! she had a rough first night, but thats it. but if he already thinks its gone...then that is great!(only of course if that is what you want:))
It sounds like he's doing great! I wanna know how he did today. If I were you, I wouldn't go back. Expecially if he's doing so well. Keep us posted and let us know how he's been doing without the binky for the second day in a row. =D
Go BUBBA!
WOW! I am impressed with Boston! What a good little Well-adjusted boy! He deserves a HUGE present!
