christmas festivities

I LOVE Christmas for many reasons.  One of those reasons is to enjoy all the things the season has to offer.  Our month was a tad chaotic so we weren't able to do as much as we usually do BUT we did have fun doing what we were able to fit in.
After Boston's basketball training one evening, we fought traffic (and a little accident that caused us to have to detour to Kroger to buy underwear--pullups-- and clothes--ninja turtle jammies) and headed to Zoo Lights.  I wasn't thrilled about trucking around in public with a kid in NINJA TURTLE pajamas but thankfully it was dark AND we had sweatshirt.  Sometimes you just have to roll with it.
I think the kids had the most fun that night when we let them go in an open area with one of the zoo strollers someone gave over to Kent when they were leaving.
We got to help celebrate Christmas at school with Hudson and Boston's Christmas parties.
Lastly, on the Sunday before Christmas we invited some friends to go look at lights in Prestonwood.  It's such a fun neighborhood at Christmas where almost everyone has lights.  Each street has a theme and lots of people go ALL OUT.  One homeowner even told us that when they sell their homes, they leave all their Christmas décor for the next homeowner.
We loaded up the truck with the trailer and all piled in.  It was SO busy that night with cars lined bumper to bumper throughout the neighborhood but the kids loved EVERY second and could have gone all night.

This is one thing I miss about the holidays - driving around to see all the lights! Glad we got to go to City Park in New Orleans this year to see some!
