And we add one more

We have been waiting anxiously for 9 months to know who was hiding inside Kristin. On September 19 at 4:04 pm we welcomed our newest family member! Another BOY joined in the mix (its now a 5 to 2 ratio...boys in the lead)! We are thrilled to have little

LANDRY BENNETT WITHERS

8 lbs 3 oz

19 inches

I love this little man already and can't wait to meet him in a few weeks!!! Isn't he SO handsome!

When I told Boston Aunt Kristin had a BOY his response was "YESSSSSS!! I LOVE playing with boys so much better!"

Preschool 2011

Boston had the first day of his last year of preschool a week ago. I'm sort of dreading next fall to come around but for now we'll enjoy another great year with his teacher Ms. Lynette (who he just LOVES).

This year he is going Tuesday/Thursday from 9-2 and he LOVES it (so does his momma)! He loves that he can bring his own lunch to school. After a FULL day at school he is completely exhausted when he comes home! Let's hope this year goes by slowly so kindergarten doesn't come too fast because I'm seriously freaking out about it for more reasons then one!

8 Months

Two weeks ago Hudson hit the 8 month mark! A few days before he turned 8 months he came down with a fever that lasted almost 5 days! I took him into the doctor to find out he had early signs of croup! Luckily, he didn't get any worse and his fever broke a day later and has been back to normal since. Those few days were rough for the little guy though. My happy boy was very irritable, loved to cuddle and slept until 10 am every morning and took 4 hour naps!

Hudson still loves to stick ANY thing and EVERY thing in his mouth. This drives me NUTS and keeps me on my toes with lysol in my hand.

Such a sad face and total OPPOSITE of what I usually get when I pull my camera out. Poor sick boy!

But I could still get a small smile out of him if I tried. He loves to bang his hand on anything and thinks it so cool if you do it back. Then we take turns. He loves to blow raspberries and if you start it, he'll do it right back at you!

Hudson loves pulling himself up onto everything whether its something stable or not. His favorite is going to the train table (mainly because there's lots of "yummy" things to stick in his mouth). He is also very clumsy and has had a few bruises/scrapes to the face. I'm sure we'll have many more of those!

A few weeks ago Boston ran to me and said "Hudson is climbing the stairs!" I didn't believe him until I saw for myself....yes indeed he was making his way up!

This boy is every where! He is definitely very curious and adventurous.

He loves to feed himself snacks. He also HATES all of the pureed food I make except for sweet potatoes, carrots or any of the fruit. If I feed him store bought baby food he will down it all with NO problem! Grrrr!

His big brother still adores him and he feels the same. No one can make Hudson laugh harder than Boston. They are pals.

We love this sweet, happy boy!

Us Time

On August 27th, Kent and I celebrated SEVEN years of marriage. I seriously can not believe its been that long but it really has. Kent had wonderful plans (YES he actually PLANNED FAR in advanced for this) for that night but Hudson started runing a fever and we decided it'd be best to order in and take care of our baby. So Outback and 50 First Dates it was (that was the first movie we ever saw together). Simple & quiet night in. We weren't too disappointed because the next weekend we got to get away together with OUT kids and head to Dallas for the LSU vs. Oregon season opener game!!! We were THRILLED to go to Dallas, spend a night together alone, stand in awe at Cowboy Stadium AND watch our TIGERS play!!! It was a quick weekend (drove up Saturday morning, left Sunday morning) but we got to see friends (Hubbards), eat a fun lunch at Benihana's and take in the game!

Our LSU tigers slaughtered those little Oregon boys!

I'm so grateful and blessed to have Kent. He really is such a hard worker and loves his family so much. Even though these last two years have been very hard and stressful on him, he's done his best to make his family his priority. I love that we support each other, understand each other, enjoy each other, and laugh together. Its amazing to see how you grow closer together each year. I'm one lucky girl to be married to that guy.

HAPPY LUCKY #7!

Oh and before I forget, I was in the car with Boston explaining what an "anniversary" was & that Kent and I had been married for 7 years. With a burst of excitement Boston says back to me, "I remember that! You and Daddy got married in the temple and I was there and then I went back up high in the sky back to heaven with Jesus!" Tears. Seriously? Then a few days later, TOTALLY unprompted Boston said the same thing and then added, "and Jesus was there too but when everyone looked over at him, he disappeared back to heaven." Out of the mouths of babes.

The BIG 3-0!

Kent has seriously been DREADING this day for quite awhile. I'm pretty sure he's still not overly thrilled to say he's 30! In fact, anytime I bring it up, he gets a little testy! His birthday was on a Sunday this year which doesn't leave for much to do on the big day. He woke up that morning to a decorated house and was sent on a hunt by Boston to find his first present. Boston wanted this little angry bird stuffed animal he spotted at Walmart SO bad! When I told him no, he asked if he could get it for daddy's birthday! So, for Kent's birthday it was. Boston was overly excited to get it for him (aka for himself) & helped wrap it and everything.

Boston has not let this angry bird OUT of his sight. He sleeps with it, plays with it, has it watch him eat...EVERYTHING! Boston's present or Kent's?? At different times throughout the day, Kent got to open presents. At his breakfast (Christmas morning sticky buns) he opened the present he asked for----a belt (and some bonus church socks)! Kent is such a practical person, it cracks me up sometimes. After church he opened another gift....HIS SHEETS!! Kent has been asking for some nice "high end hotel sheets" (his words not mine), so I told my mom to get some for him. We had some nice ones when we first got married but they got really worn & we hadn't replaced them with nicer ones yet...til now!

I cooked one of his favorite dinners (crawfish fettuccine) and after let him open his grand present! He was a tad confused when he opened up and saw a little airplane. He didn't get the joke at first but then he saw the back of the box which told him he was getting FLIGHT LESSONS!!!! This is a DREAM of Kent's. He wants to own a plane someday and get his pilot's license. So, you turn 30 & start knocking things off your bucket list right?

I made one of his favorite desserts that his mom makes, 3 layer chocolate dessert. Its delicious!

The BIG DIRTY THIRTY!!!!!!

The following Saturday was when he was scheduled for his flight lesson. The night before I started panicking thinking I might never see my husband again! I had very mixed emotions about this but off he went on his little plane where he was given TOTAL control---take off, flew the whole time himself & started the landing process then his instructor took over to land the plane.

About an hour or so later, I get a call that I missed from an unknown number. I listen to the message that says, "Yes, Mrs. Hooper, this is Scott from flight school houston and I need you to call me back as soon as possible. There has been an accident. Please call back ASAP!" I don't even think I finished the message. I flipped out, found the number, called back to find out Kent pranked me! I was SOO upset and SOO mad! I know if I had thought it through more then I'd realized it was Kent disguising his voice but I was already paranoid about this happening and assumed when I got the call my nervousness was my gut telling me to not let him go! Let's see if I ever let him fly again now!!! Anyway, hopefully he had a great time ringing in year 30!! He deserves a great year after all the stress and craziness the last two years have brought him! We are going to celebrate a little more this next weekend...more on that later!

HAPPY 30TH TO MY OLD MAN!

Crawling and then some!

I've been meaning to post this for awhile. Hudson has been crawling just a little over a week after he turned 7 months (now he's almost 8 months). It was so funny to see him be a little unstable when crawling but now he's a pro & getting quicker. He definitely keeps me on my toes!

And about 2 weeks ago he started doing this

Yep! This kid is pulling himself up on anything and everything in sight! He's even started to walk across the furniture if there is something he wants bad enough on the other end. This kid is everywhere! I'm pretty sure he's just trying to keep up with his bigger brother!

Louisiana: Annual Pudding Painting

WARNING: PICTURE OVERLOAD

Okay, so maybe this isn't our "annual" thing but it WILL be. I've seen a friend do this & decided it would be fun to do with the cousins when we were all together in Louisiana. Needless to say, it was a hit with the kids. Boston and Sophie "helped" me make all the chocolate and vanilla pudding aka lick the spoons clean!

Then we got all the kids dressed in their swimsuits & headed outside to paint with the pudding. At first they stayed pretty clean drawing pictures with all the pudding.

We tried to get Krew to dive in and paint but he didn't want to get messy. He stood on the sidelines and enjoyed the show the kids put on instead.

First it was just the hands

Who doesn't love a little bum crack?

Then they started to paint their legs

And slowly some of their face

Then their arms

And bellies

Krew decided he'd mix the "leftover" pudding in the bowl instead.

Quickly their entire face was covered

Their bodies were covered at this point. They tried to make "pudding" angels but it wasn't too comfy doing that on the concrete.

Last came the hair....

Kari tried to get Krew a little messy with the little amount you can barely see & he wasn't too thrilled about even that AT ALL!

Don't you love it? They were now MONSTERS apparently.

I just love all the fun they had.

When they were finished, Chad sprayed them down and they finished getting the rest off in the pool!

Seriously, so much fun! It will now be an annual tradition!
